Bloody hell !

Yep blowing it tits off now and meant to be getting worse later

This morning I left home in daylight and 30 mins later I'm at work in the dark.
This will confuse the chooks

Thats just the first band, there's another coming thru SA now.....

I survived Cyclone Ului, a cat 3 cyclone in Mackay a few years back.

Wind gusts to 215Km/h

No power for 5 days.

Not an experience I wish to have again. Scared the crap out of me.

I live 500m North of the Airport, it's still blowing like hell. The BOM says wind gusts were up to 69kmh here again last night.

We are in the middle of changing rooms around and have no kitchen, temporary one is split between the enclosed rear porch and our tarped up back veranda, just as Mrs Chook tea was about to start cooking last night we lost power, cooking outside in a gale with no lights is starting to challenge her sense of humour

Straight after the cyclone and like many hundreds of Mackay residents I went out and bought a "big-arse" generator.

We haven't had a serious power outage since.

I don't see it getting much use now where I live in Hervey Bay but I start and run it every two weeks to keep it functional
