Paper air filter cleaning .??

I went to buy a new paper air filter yesterday but of coarse the shop was closed .It was very dirty with 50% black oil stain (?) and over rich plugs .
Nothing to loose I drenched it in degreaser ,washed it out ,then air pressure clean from exit side .I left it  outside to dry , this morning a mint looking
filter  I would have no hesitation in using .
Just an observation and at the moment not wanting to spend money if I an avoid it on a bike not registered .

Just changed my air filter this weekend. Don't know if yours was dirtier than this Gus, but I found bits of glass in the folds   !
 


 
The old filter had done 23000lms.

Hard to tell mine was red and a different material (not bandit )so didn't show dirt .

Is it a K and N or a BMC filter?
