Annoying things .
Noticed yesterday I had no LOW beam .
Today check fuse , OK but no power getting to it .Check manual but Aust . model is hard wired so this throws a little doubt into the wiring diagram .Test bulbs O.K
Pull switch apart and lube ,looks good .Track wires looking for a loose wire ,isn't any .
Turn key , low beam now works .Oh well ,at least its working .
Put bike back together ,clean up bench.
Turn key .
F$%^&*#@*G thing, no low beam .
Start again ,pull it all apart ,no power getting to bulb .Starting to get shitty .
Turn key again POWER . Now am shitty .
Bolt it all back up without finding a fault .
Turn key , power with low beam .
Its only a matter of how long though isn't it , annoying .
Oh ,the low beam went on the tl's last week as well .(relay)
No comments ,on the owner being "not too bright " will be tolerated .

Re: Annoying things .
There is a switch contact in the keyswitch which may be intermittent.
However, there is also a switch contact in the starter button that turns off the headlight when starting to maximise battery volts.
You don't mention whether you started the bike but considering your description of the fault I would have a closer look at the starter button contact.
The two wires are identified by colours black / orange stripe and green / black stripe.
Both of these wires pass through a 7 way connector which contains all wiring for the right hand side of the handlebars.

Re: Annoying things .
If it plays up again check to see if Hi Beam works if Low is playing up. If it does then your Ignition switch and all wiring past the Dimmer Switch is ok as the lights turn into one wire after the Dimmer switch.

Don't you hate intermittent faults.
When the fault is present is it after you turn the key and before you push the starter button?
If so, when the fault is present you need to probe various points with a multimeter to find the faulty component.
An alternative is to clean a number of components (WD-40 or similar) and see if the fault clears.
The main problem with this method is you may never find out which component caused the problem and if it will occur again.
Call me strange if you like, but I quite enjoy challenges like your fault.

Hey Gus are you running HIDs?
When I first put in my HID kit the lowbeam would sometimes fail to light up. Turn the key off and back on again and it would work.
It did this on and off for about 2 weeks. I don't know why but it just went away
