My new GSX1250FA arrived in Darwin today.
Have a look at the photos and see what you would have
thought when you were told it had gone belly up in the crate, and arrived to
see this! Sad Shocked Mad

After getting it unpacked, it seems 2 of the straps
holding it in place were not fitted correctly – just wrapped under one of the
crate frame bars with a sharp edge that simply wore through and let the bike
fall.

I think it actually sat upright for the remainder of the
trip leaning on the end of the right hand handlebars, and only really fell
sideways when they moved it off the truck – as the only damage I can see is
some rub marks on the handlebar end, and a few slight rub marks elsewhere. Very Happy

I consider myself pretty damned lucky!

Had the bike one day, fitted a Delkovic Carbon Fibre Exhaust, Radguard and a few extras. Now just want to get myself a MRA Vario touring screen.

Cheers

Very lucky. I'd be asking the dealer to at least order you a new bar end. Whilst it's new consider getting one of those 3m plastic kits fitted as the paint work is thin.

Welcome aboard Steve. The transport company's efforts at properly securing your bike were a joke. I've seen this happen far too often - strapping put on as if the item was never going to move (and not properly rigged for transport on gravel roads). Hope you are happy with the Bandit nonetheless.

Bike got the Delkevic exhaust fitted last night Very Happy
As well as a Top Box, levers, radguard etc - all were sitting here waiting for the main part to arrive (the bike) and were fitted into the night last night.

As I said - I got off really lightly with the shipping mishap (and so did the company freighting it up here for me). No damage to the bike apart from a rubbed handlebar end, some really light rub marks on the mirrors and a really light rub mark on the edge of the fairing - cannot really even see the mirror and fairing rub marks and the handle bar end is only paint missing - and easily fixed.

Been out today on it! and LOVE it!

Welcome Steve,
That makes two of us supporting the NT contingent on this forum. There's a surprising number of Bandits trundling around up here tho.
Pauld used to post here but he sold his baby Bandit recently and got into a very sweet Trumpy Speed Triple.

Bummer about the freight issues mate!

I got my FA delivered new from QLD to my door in July 2011 - all good.

First place I took it (to get to know each other) was for a run into Wangi Falls and back (Litchfield NP - for the non NT contingent).

About the best bike road up here cos it actually has some bends. This time of year pretty much perfect as most of the terrorists have gone back south to avoid our lovely weather. But you know that.

Might see you out and about!!

Bill.
