Bike Rider riding on footpath
http://www.couriermail.com.au/news/biker-filmed-riding-on-footpath-to-dodge-traffic-near-brisbane-school-faces-police-questioning-over-hooning/story-fnek2g32-1226466423698
When this was posted up on another forum the REGO number was clearly visible. The person who posted it got his knickers in a knot when taken to task over posting a video showing the rego number.
A 'flame' war is now in progress between a motorcycle forum and a pushbike forum.

Re: Bike Rider riding on footpath
Couldn't work the original link but found the story here. Of the stats at the end of the piece, I wonder if they have the figures of bike accidents caused/or at least involved a car/truck.
Unfortunately here in Canberra there was another sole rider addition to this total today.
Be careful out there !

Come on guys your being a bit harsh, in all fairness to the rider there was no pushbike lane he could use & those pesky cars were on the road

Re: Bike Rider riding on footpath
I think its acceptable at walking pace and have done it myself but not to avoid traffic.
In fact its done all the time in Elisabeth St Melb in the bike precinct.
He's pushing his odds with vehicles reversing out of driveways etc.
Impossible to get the reg though and I'd put little faith in the average intelligence of netrider (since I left )

Riding on Footpaths
Guys, I delivered mail for a few months this year, on a stupid postie bike, and i wouldnt ride on a footpath ever again, postie bike or not. The stress is unreal, not knowing if a car was going to reverse in front of me, or a dog was gonna latch onto me.
I think this idiot deserves what he gets, and wtf was his mate doing posting it online anyway? Did they really think he could get away with it, with all those car drivers as witnesses?
This kind of crap is giving us all a bad rap.

All I got to say is, "What a Bloody Tosser". Wankers like that are the reason the pollies want to change bike regulations.

I doubt the people here would let it.
although I have to say that for a change I think the majority of Netriders got it right on this one. Yes mr Dirt bike did the wrong thing, but posting his rego up on the forum wasn't right either.
