New Triumph GT 1050
While I was over riding about yesterday after "Rosies" tune-up, I called into the Triumph dealership in Moss street Underwood. Mainly to check out the 2nd hand Sprint 1050s they have. Three in fact. Am very impressed. Nice bike. While I was there the salesman showed me the new GT 1050, Sprint upgrade. What were Triumph thinking ? They have a really good looking bike with a sexy single sided swing arm rear end, and now go and cover the r/h side of the rear wheel with an ugly muffler. Supposed reason. Too many complaints about the heat from under seat exhaust system from the pillions. I dont know about you, but I would sooner have a sexy unblocked view of a rear single sided swing arm wheel, than worry about a pillion butt. Could'nt they have just stuck some of those tiles off the old Space Shuttles up under the seat ?

Only a problem for the pillion. I;m sure there are ways around it, ie, more heat shield material.

Go ride a triumph and you'll understand. the Sprint 1050 was HOT! and that's for me as a rider. Also wasn't a fan of the feel of the bike. Other than that it's well put together

Re: New Triumph GT 1050
Tried a Sprint 1050 a year ago when last looking for a bike.
Bloody hot behind the rider's legs, and the bike understeered out of slow corners. Bought the Bandit instead.

I think the ST is/was a far better looking bike than the GT and was considering buying a mates but I always wanted an FZ.
I would say the same of the ZX14 and the GT version but somehow as a grand tourer I like the Honda ST. Go figure.....

Hammy Rabid Canine has it spot on. Steering seemed really slow and the heat was something else. Nothing wrong with the power plant though
