Post  gus Fri 13 May 2011, 11:20 am

Could someone tell me what type of paint they use on the 1250 tank and panels .Is it emamel ,acrylic ,baked or something else ?
Also is the black bandit straight black or have some metal fleck in it . Anyone tried to do a re-spray ?

Is it a TWO PACK ?

I'd be interested to know what silver paint i used on the motor. Mine needs a respray as the country roads haven't been kind to the old girl after nearly 30000kms

I used a Power Plus brand HEAT type silver because that what was in the shed .The part i am pointing to is actually a 52mm welsh plug that goes
into the side of a car motor .$3 Repco .Made of brass and that colour .I scratched the side of the motor when i dropped it doing a u-turn.
I painted the welsh plug silver and siliconed it over the scratches .Been that way for 1 yr.As you can see the match is as good as you'll get.
I'll take a photo of the spray can if your interested .Is that old looking hand really mine. Mad

Hey Gus you're a pretty inventive guy - that's a good fix there.

If i had of known the silver was such a good match i would have done that .Worried that a little scratch will end up a full re-spray.
Figured bikes fall over so mabe ,just maybe ,that welsh plug might save something next time .Did note bike rests on that cover ,front edge of
exhaust ,bottum edge of rad. and bar end weight (naked Bandit No R @ G )When it lies down on the RHS

Excellent Gus, a picture would be great. Next thing is who stocks the stuff?

Also need the silver for the frame as it has been sandblasted also. Will speak to my local Suzuki shop and see if they have touch up for that.

Nothing .This can is so old i'm surprised it works .I dare say they have upgraded the look of the can. Power Plus Heat Proof .Heat resistance up to
760 deg. Silver . I just used it on the front rim . Good Luck.
