New Sargent Seat
My new Sargent seat arrived today from the US, 2 weeks after I ordered it. I took the original seat off and the Sargent fitted straight on. It looks and feels wider than the original seat, both front and pillion. Have only ridden on it for half an hour, will know more when my wife and I go for a longer ride. I will try to take some photos tomorrow.

I still have not put photos up, but the cost was US$369.56 plus $63.90 Shipping, total of $433.46 US. I got it from Solomotoparts.
Here is the link:

NB I was quoted $564 and 3-4 weeks for delivery from the Australian distributor.

Re: New Sargent Seat
Today my wife and I took the bike for a run up the Lakes Way to Forster and returned via the Pacific Hwy. We both agreed the new Sargent seat is more comfortable than the standard seat. I don't feel as comfortable as I did on the V Strom, but I now think that may be related to the different seating position. Next I plan to raise the bars a little and see what difference that makes.
Photos have been uploaded, hope the link works.

Re: New Sargent Seat
That definitely looks the goods. I used to have a Corbin on my 1200 .Comfortable to sit on but had a very sharp edge so
when you stopped it would dig into you.

Re: New Sargent Seat
as Gus said - that looks the goods!
I looked at the Seargent when I first picked up the Bandit. Sent a message off to find out the freight etc, & had a reply that my query had been passed onto the Australian Distributor.
I never heard from them, so eventually sent another message off saying that I hadn't heard from their distributor, but don't panic, I'd purchased their competitors product & was now in seat bliss!
Their distributor then got in contact with me, quoting over $700. Wasn't going to happen! In the end I purchased the Suzuki gel seat which has been great - but not as good as this looks with the storage!

Re: New Sargent Seat
I checked out that site you bought the sargent seat from and now they seem to be offering free shipping ... but I can't really justify forking out all that much just for a little storage under the seat. I ended up buying a wollen CruisnComfort to go over my OEM gel seat ... seems alright but haven't done large km's on it yet

Re: New Sargent Seat
I've had a sheepskin previously Baz, but after the FarRide on Saturday I can't go past the Airhawk!
Re: New Sargent Seat
Im a fan of the Airhawk like Boomer. On the way to GP we tend to do 900 kls the first day, 900kls the second day ,700kls the third day.
The trick is to move around in the seat straight away ,dont wait to you get a sore bum and then move.
Took me a while to get used to it and like most people had to much air in it at the start.Good in the rain as dont hold water.

Re: New Sargent Seat
The company I bought it from was very helpful. Originally I wanted to pay with my Visa card, but was told it would be difficult because it was not issued in the USA. I then cancelled the original order and reordered using my PayPal account. Several emails went back and forwards before it was all organised, and all correspondence was prompt and helpful from customer service person Daniel.
Like Boomer I originally emailed the company in the USA and got a response that they would pass my inquiry on to the Australian distributor. The Aus distributor emailed me with a far higher price and longer delivery forecast. I am all for local enterprise, but not when the price difference is so much.
Hope the seat lives up to what people say, otherwise I will be looking for a sheepskin or Airhawk. Will find out for sure after a couple of long runs.
Baz the free shipping offer only applies within the USA.
Cheers
Pete

Re: New Sargent Seat
I spoke with the Airhawk guy when i bought my cushion. Really nice guy and I have since had two friends buy them. Ultra wrapt with the comfort level as I no longer get sore inner thighs after 150-200k's. Takes a little getting used to the cushion, but once you get the air level right it is so much better than a stock seat.
+10 thumbs up for the product. Best thing is you can move it to a new bike in say 5 minutes maximum. My wife likes it too as I tried it on the pillion seat. Looks like I'll buy a small airhawk seat soon. Pity the airhawk guy doesn't give discounts for people you recommend the product too.

G'day, what size Airhawk seat fits the Bandit 1250 (rider not pillion)? (I have a 1250SA). How much does it raise the seat height? Can you strap it to the seat permanently or does it just sit on top? Do they last? Where can you buy them online? Ta.

Re: New Sargent Seat
Mine is called Airhawk 2 .Got it from www.aussiebiker.com.au Tel. (07 )5474 1050 .No risk 60day trail period.
Simple strap system keeps it attached to the seat. Lifts you about 10mm higher but feels more at first ,no problem though .
Comes with a repair kit but as long as your not into flick knives you shouldn't need it.Remember to move your arse early ,no good
doing 300kls and then move because its sore.
You could also try ""the air hawk guy " (google)

Thanks, did you buy the "Cruiser Medium" one? The quoted size (36cm long) seems too big for the rider seat of a Bandit 1250s (which is only about 30cm long). Do the straps go under the seat? Ta.

that's the one I purchased - fits really well, & yes the straps go under the seat.

Re: New Sargent Seat
I've just ordered a airhawk direct from the airhawk website and that seems to be the cheapest place to buy it from.
the website tells you what fits the Bandit but just to let you know its Medium Cruiser for front seat
