obligatory intro
Just found this place, i'm From central Qld, and own 4 bikes,
a 96 600 bandit that went from stock to this
and as it is now
with around 230,000km on it, a gixxer 750/1100/zx7r front end, 1100 shock, tow bar etc etc.
a 06 DR650, with around 70,000km on it
with a kato fairing, rmz450 front shoehorned into it and a drz400 swing arm, pumper carb and the list goes on.
a fuggin postie bike, so much fun
and i'm probably better known as the owner of this thing ( i'm not riding it in this pic)
an 05 FJR1300 that has 150,000km on it and i've just about got it all back together again after having to do a engine rebuild.

Re: obligatory intro
I thought so.
This place is a fair bit tamer than TWF or BikeMe. There are some quite knowledgable blokes here.

Re: obligatory intro
Hey, how are ya. Welcome to the site.
As you can see I am in CQ as well, I had a K6 DR650 for a few years only recently sold it. I had nearly every mod known to man on it, though never thought of the fairing. They are a great bike, very under rated, just like the Bandits.
Anyway hope you enjoy it here.

All over Oz mate, I took the DR across oz and back last year, went across the guts the hard way and met up with teh oz safari and came back across the bottom the hard way, via the telegraph track. Going to tassie for 2 wks at the beginning of march ( on the 600 cos the fjr is still in pieces)_, and probably run across the simpson again around the birdsville races. i'm hoping to do the Canning Stock route next year ( finances permitting, and ship the fjr over to UnZud for a 2013 tour.
Somewhere in all that i want to do a 50CC run ( IBA) on the Dr as well as the FJR late this year or sometime next year, and whatever other ideas i get into my head in amongst all that...

Gday mate, I spotted the eucla tele station straight away in those pics. We took the 4by up the CSR 2 years ago. Great trip you'll really enjoy it on the bike. I've got a mate who did it a couple of years ago on his DRZ400 with a tour group. He loved every minute of it. Just remember to slow down occasionally to have a look around. Its not just all about riding the track!
Cheers
