Intro Keenaviator
Hi folks, Laurie from West Gippsland here. Just upgrading my bike from a Suzuki M50 to the GSX1250FA as I have found that the cruiser has too many characteristics that don't suit me. Cheers!

Welcome
Thanks folks for the welcomes. Looking forward to riding with you
I spoke to Sunstate Motorcycles today and unfortunately I've still got a couple of weeks before my new beast arrives - all the transport folks are tied up with the Melbourne Expo, although my M50 is being picked up this Wednesday.
I've just about worn out this video made in Europe. It's a beauty.
Suzuki GSX1250FA - On board HD camera.
Sorry, but I can't post links for 7 days. No worries.
Cheers, Laurie

Hi Pilot (it's easier to spell),
Welcome to the forum! My husband was born in Warragul, I've been there a couple of times since we've been married. Nice place to visit.
Good luck with the new bike.

Welcome Keen or is that Kelvin? I am another former Gippslander myself. Born in Meeniyan. I love riding around that neck of the woods.

Nah Ash, the Keen just comes from my username here, as in keenaviator - I have an interest in flying things such as small aeroplanes, microlights and paragliders. In my avatar, I'm the little dot at the top of the stack in a thermal above 3 Sisters, Flowerdale - photo taken last month I think.
Cheers, Laurie.

And I believe you've got some ripper road to practice on - I was in Canberra a couple of years ago with the family and we visited the space observatory place to the south of Canberra, what a top road with a hotmix surface and lots of bends.

I take that route home from work as often as I can. Its four times longer than the quickest route but 10 times as fun. Especially mid week when there is little traffic around.
I did a solo tour of Gippy in March and loved some of the quieter roads down that way. My best memory was overtaking an R1 around the outside on a fast sweeper. The look on his face when he saw my saddlebages and camping gear on the back was bloody hilarious. To be fair, I think he had just bought it because he was pretty slow. I was also nursing a hangover that could have wiped out a small third world nation after a big night in the Meeniyan pub.
