Beowulf Can is Here
Hi guys,
The courier turned up at work this morning with a nice box from England
Came home at lunch to have a fiddle and forgot to go back to work Boss is a rider so will understand
Anyway the hardest bit of the change over was removing the woven gasket. Finally got it out without stuffing it and only a little swearing
The new can is awesome and sounds much better than the stocker. Looks better too IMHO.
The engine seems more willing to rev although I think its a little softer right off the bottom but from 2500rpm its pulling well and sounding fantastic around the 6000rpm mark. Without even trying I got up my street quicker than I did on the RF900R which has always been a benchmark I couldnt beat on the B1250.
So a bit more mumbo. 9.5kg less (I weighed the cans). A nicer note (without baffle). The only thing I have to do now is try and find out why I was charged the full price and not minus VAT. Given the recent customer service I'm not expecting an answer let alone a partial refund.
Here's the Video and pix.
Cheers,
Chris.

Happy I am mate.
I have actually had a few people look at it when parked up the street. Had a couple of young kids wave on my first ride Wife says I'm showing off Hope the police don’t take an equally close look.
I came out of Coles last night and there was a bloke waiting for me to fire it up. Not sure how long he'd been waiting but said he wanted to hear it and hear it he did.
I love being able to park on the footpath.
I'm finding I'm running a gear lower just for the note and the pop and crackle on the over run. At a steady throttle between 3000 - 5000rpm its not to bad with the baffle out.

They do sound good don't they.
I havne't tried without baffle yet but I do like the with baffle sound.
Oddly the 650 appears to be louder than the 1250. COuld be becasue of more RPMS for same road speed. duno.
But I like em

I was stopped for a breath test a while ago, I could see the copper checking it out, but I think (and this is a guess) that he was probably wondering where Beowulf came from? but he didnt seem to worried, I did ride very quietly though as well!!!!

Hi,
Which model did you get?
Did you had much luck with VAT refund?

Thanks for your enquiry we do not charge VAT for goods being shipped to Australia. We deduct the VAT manually, so when you place your order, we will deduct the VAT when we take your payment. The cost for a black stainless steel can with shipping is £174.78
Kindest regards, Carol

Re: Beowulf Can is Here
My suggestion is to ask if you order and pay via paypal. That's how I did it.
thier paypal addy = BEOWULFEBAY@AOL.COM (NOTE: it's what I used but confirm this with them to be sure)
Work out the sums yourself
(Pipe + shipping)-VAT=your cost in GBP
then pay the amount in GBP via paypal.
When I did it, it came to something like 297 gbp so I made it up to 300 as I wasn't 100% on whether we pay VAT on shipping
The guys at Beowulf accepted what I sent
7 days later the pipes arrived.
