Beowulf CF Can
This morning after failing to ignore the devil sitting on my shoulder whispering "do it, do it" in my ear I shelled out some hard earned on this.
Do we pay the British VAT?
Hopfully I'll be posting some fitted pix next weekend.

Re: Beowulf CF Can
You won't have to pay VAT, but, you may have to pay a duty/tax on it as it arrives in Australia. As mentioned before, the dollar versus the pound right now will keep the price down anyway, I still think it is worth the effort. Give a quick call to the ATO or customs to check on arrival duty/tax.

Re: Beowulf CF Can
VAT = no
Duty/tax = no. you pay duty/tax on stuff if it's over $1000 aud at time of entry into country (or time of purchase can't remember)
did you get short/long, oval/round

I think I have been charged including VAT and an exchange rate of about .51 (todays rate .545) I have sent back an email asking about VAT. If VAT was deducted the exchange rate is really piss poor

Mine cost 185 pound (including shipping) on 22nd Jan 2009 ($402 AUD) which is about 0.46 and the dollar wasnt to bad at the start of the year either.

Re: Beowulf CF Can
After seeing what was charged to my Visa I'll be very interested in the enclosed paper work seeing as the good old Deborah is no longer answering emails after the deal is done.
Re: Beowulf CF Can

That sucks I would have thought it would be here by now, their service to me was brilliant, maybe they have started to go bad? Feel bad for recommending them now.

gota agree. I gave em a good rep as they treated me well and had great service.
after i got the can I sent them an e-mail to say it was here and got a response the next day saying 'great to hear it got there OK, don't hesitate to contact us if you have any problems with the fit up etc.'
I don't get the sudden down turn in service after payment.
Hope they aren't taking advantage of the fact we live way across a bunch of H2O and the warranty (if ever needed) will be honored
