Trivia .....
First topic message reminder :
What does everone think about a TRIVIA thread
Stuff that maybe of no use to most people but really handy to the others. Maybe a good DVD ,something they have made, seen ,heard of ,
cooked ,been too .Minor things that do not really warrant a post of there own.(like most of my stuff ,there beat you to it )
Like taking a tractor tyre up north to float your Bandit across a river to a football selection ,the taste of beer ,who's state is
better at Rugby League. (may be not that) .Something that may make someone else say ,"why didnt i think of that".
Good idea or just post it on "off topic discussions " or not post it at all? (feeling vulnerable now )

Re: Trivia .....
can you see the indicator lamps from a 45 degree angle looking from the rear? if not you could get pinged for it. just in the middle of an indicator reno myself, when finished I'll post some pics, suffice to say the Bandit has flush mounts front and rear and no stalks.

Re: Trivia .....
New bits arrived today, so fitted them up. The pics are bad being a night shoot, but most of us know the Bandit well enough to know where the bits were positioned.ThatOtherGuy wrote:can you see the indicator lamps from a 45 degree angle looking from the rear? if not you could get pinged for it. just in the middle of an indicator reno myself, when finished I'll post some pics, suffice to say the Bandit has flush mounts front and rear and no stalks.
Basically the flush mounts filled the void where the stalks were, they are CBR flush mounts, got the idea from seeing Hammy's bike on the Kenilworth ride. However because of the positioning, the bike would not be legal for front and rear line of sight. So I added some strip LEDs that basically stick on. So long as they are spaced centre to centre at least 300mm for front and 180mm for rear and visible from 45degree angles they satisfy the legal requirements.
This is the rear:
And the front:

Re: Trivia .....
Yeah, just have to get home in daylight hours first.
Should be able to get some decent pics tonight, plus some video of them. I am very happy with the setup now, just waiting for some red LED tail light globes and a HID conversion kit to finish the mods. Hoping the HID will solve the lack of forward lighting problem, doing twisties in the dark is fraught with danger when you cannot see because your lights are shocking.

Well now ! Lets talk about my Great Swanies. Bad luck Gus, but what a fantastic final, again. I got a little worried in the 4th quarter but what a super effort by the " Bloods ".

Re: Trivia .....
Washed my bike the other day a spotted a silver dot dead centre of the rear tire .About the size of a pin head .Managed to grab it with needle nose pliers .60mm of pop rivet came out along with a tire full of air .
No wonder i was getting low pressure readings on way home from Victoria .I used a rubber string to plug it but there was no way i could push it in with the tire flat .Half inflated o.k it went in ,just .
So you may have to put a couple of canisters in the tire first .I was at home so could youse a compressor .

That could be a good one for " Myth Busters " Gus. See if they can get a rivot to embed itself into a tyre. I recon you couldn't do it if you tried, but somehow they get in.

The guy at the tire shop told me you generally get punctures in the rear one because the object gets flung up by the front wheel & gets caught by the rear tire as you ride over it .................make of that what you will

I PMed him ages ago when I saw his '06 in a bike shop for sale. I got no reply. I guess he has given up the bike scene for a while. Don't worry . He'll be back.
