PAIR valve modification
Had a bit of a look around, but cant see anyone recording this being done.
A train of thought in the SV world, where i came from, and in a chat with a former Bandit owner, is, that redirecting the
air flow from the airbox to the PAIR valves on the rocker cover to the crankcase vent is a good way of creating a negative
pressure within the crankcase, the pistons are never working at moving any air at all, and there is a incremental improvement
across the rev range, (prob more noticeable on a track).
So i am installing a Healtech PAIR eliminator, and, i would like to install a tee piece to replace the PAIR solenoid, but, in interests of keeping the
same basic routing of the air pickup hose (long one below) that goes to the airbox, the PAIR solenoid casing is the ideal tee.
My question is, can this casing be disembowelled to use as the tee ?
Using a normal tee is just going to point the hose directly back at the thermo housing, hence the below routing....
Opinions oh long termers ?
PS: If i choose to go blanking plates, does anyone have a drawing of the plates with sizing so i can make them in advance ?

Re: PAIR valve modification
I just typed PAIR into the search box, this is what it came up with

Sounds like a lot of messing around for no gain to me, just grab a pair eliminator kit.Missing Link wrote: redirecting the

Re: PAIR valve modification
Had a Healtech pair eliminator, put that in and cut up some 5mm alloy and made blanking plates. Prefer less plumbing anyway. No test ride because of rain, but that and a BMC filter was done today, and just idling the exhaust is less "nasal" for want of a better description, no popping thank F

Re: PAIR valve modification
Well, my lovely red girl is now dead.... written off. Gone to auctions at Manheim.... Cant buy it back without bidding.....so the time before auction, then waiting for parts and the WOVI crap.....
So looking for another bike, and going to perform this surgery again.
Question... the FA model bikes don't have the Healtech PSE listed for them....but, the OEM PAIR valve solenoid is the same part number all the way through.
So, that being said, it would be an assumption that the PSE-01 would fit.
So, i asked Healtech, and the Aussie dist. by email, and on Facebook.....several days gone now...no answers. Everyone seems to rave about the Healtech customer service from the main company, but, not feeling it.
Has anyone done this mod on the FA models ?

Re: PAIR valve modification
Hit the back corner of a car on the M1 trying to avoid it....bloody taffic went from 60 to dead stop in the moment i did a shoulder check to move lanes.....
Yeah, my fault, but that road is a disaster...all because of merging and drivers inability to do just that, drive.
I had just done a few mods and the grin on my dial was getting bigger every time....PAIR, TRE, Air filter, springs in the front..... was falling deep in love... ha ha

Question - why Healtech PSE-01?
A quick look at buying it and it seems to cost about $50 shipped, it's just a resistor that tricks the ECU into thinking the PAIR system is still plugged in.
Get on ebay and search "Suzuki Bandit 1250 PAIR SMOG Block Off Plates GSF1250 GSX1250 FA GSF650 GSX650F", you'll get a similar resistor that plugs into the loom with a set of block off plates and screws for covering up where the reed valves sit.
It's $70 posted.
Or just plug up the tube that runs from the airbox to the PAIR system - free! TBH though, mine seemed to be a little smoother with the full delete

Re: PAIR valve modification
I would be buying a ATRE unit as well...... the PSE-01 is $35, but once you add the XTRE the postage is zero.....already made blanking plates ready to go.
I still have the old PAIR manifolds as a template.
Probably getting the FI Tuner module as well.....
Just a little frustrated that Healtech international and the local distributor haven't answered me.
I believe it will work, as i said, the OEM PAIR valve is the same part number....
Lets wait and see

Re: PAIR valve modification
Ok, remember that if your aim is to eventually get it flashed on a dyno then the ATRE will end up redundant as the timing retard can be disabled via the ECU

Re: PAIR valve modification
I have a set of unused block off plates. I haven’t got round to fitting them yet.
I’ll find them and post up a picture
Bought mine from RatedR parts, eBay store in WA, Perth. They have heaps of quality aftermarket parts
