Lower rear pegs, OEM bar mounts
Hey all,
As mentioned in my intro, I'm pretty happy with my new(ish) 1250 FA, with a couple of caveats. First is not the bike itself, but the previous owner's mods. The bike came with aftermarket bar-risers, and I'd like to go back to the original configuration. Trouble being, every bar clamp I can find online is designed to lift the bars. Can anyone suggest a set of clamps that will get me back close to OEM?
My second issue is down to the design of the bike itself. The upsweep of the conventional exhaust system puts a fair bend in the knees for the pillion, and my +1 isn't happy (alternatives like the VFR or Sprint, with their under-seat systems, are definitely better in this respect). I've found some after-market pegs that should improve things by 40mm, and it that's not enough I've got some ideas for a DIY fix, but I'd be interested to know if anyone else has remedied this (subjective) problem.

Hi, mtcw,
Bars - wrecker or local dealer.
Rear pers- buy some 3mm x 25 mm aluminium plate, easy to cut and drill and use as a templete. Lower pegs by 40mm - if good, buy the 40mm ones, if need to go lower say 60mm, make out of 5mm steel plate .

Hi Guys,
I had the same complaint from my wife about our newish GSF 1250S. Pillion pegs are way too high.
See my solution in post entitled Happy Wife = Happy motorcycling.
Cheers
