Lower Fairing Empty Lower Fairing

Post  Paul 1250 Sat 21 Feb 2015, 10:57 am

Hi guys,
I'm thinking about putting a lower fairing on my 08 1250s. I'm not sure where to look to purchase a set, looking more for the factory look.
Any advice or if anyone has a set they want to move.

Paul

One thing about the lowers Paul is they trap the engine heat, and with your summer temps that might not be something you'd want.

I got my set from eBay UK about 5 years ago, paid peanuts for them (I think it was £26) as they didn't have the mounting kit and needed painting.  The biggest expense was getting them shipped over here, although they weighed nothing - it was the oversized package that was the killer, finally got a friends dad to ship them for me but still cost £100.  Going by a quick search on eBay, even with painting and fitting (no kit and it had to have two holes on the left side for the sidecar struts) looks like I got off pretty lightly.

Doesn't seem to be too much around, a couple of sets in the US at US$700 - 900 delivered, this fellow from Poland has reproduced factory looking units for £129, shipping should be about the same.

There's someone in Moss Vale has an aftermarket Imported JMV Concept French set (used) with a starting bid of $400, then postage.

Give Sean Kelly a ring at SRK (02 6337 5705), I got a feeling he has a set of molds simular (very simular Cool  ) to mine.

Also here's some OEM part numbers I've collected that might help in your search:
2007 RED 990D0-18H20-YHL
2007 BLACK 990D0-18H20-YAY
2007 BLUE 990D0-18H20-YLE
2008 BLUE 990D0-18H20-YBA
2008 GREY 990D0-18H20-YHG
2009 BLACK 990D0-18H20-YAY

Thanks for that, I did see the set on ebay at moss vale but I didn't like the shape, edges are too round for me.
I was hoping they would direct heat away from my legs, when the fan comes on at traffic lights its like a heat wave in my boots.
The set from Poland look good but fitting could be a problem.
Thanks again for looking out for me
