Sadly, the price of petrol is of little consequence when you are unable to travel any distance from home.
Given our current restrictions it wouldn't matter if petrol was $5/litre, a tank would last many months.
I wonder if the price will remain low after this virus is over.

Barry
we've had 2 or 3 days in the past month where fuel has been over $1.20, for some reason the Eastern suburbs tend to be 15 - 20 /l higher than the West, the North and South seems to be somewhere in between
91 has hovered around 1.00/l for a lot of that time
My photo was at Costco which had only been 2-5c/l lower than near me since the prices had dropped, at the mopment I can save 25c a litre by driving 10km, or only 2km out of my way on the way to work.
Talking to the attendant a couple of days ago he said that this is the price that reflects the wholesale cost, it hasn't changed at Costco for nearly a week there while BP/Shell/Caltex/Mobil/Liberty have been bouncing between 89.7 and 117.9 for 91

I'm hearing you, our second car, a Kia Rio normally use a tank a week between my daughter driving out to Uni and back and general running around, when I filled that after 1 1/2 weeks yesterday it only took $13, about 1/3 of a tank.
In SA our restrictions aren't as severe as NSW, Vic and Tas so we are still permitted to do quite a bit of travel that you aren't allowed, I'm also still working so the Bandit fuel use is till about the same

$1.31 for diesel here in Townsville.
I'd like to see fuel electricity and food prices the same across the country. So city folk pay the same as us country folk.
Annoys me no end when I go to the big smoke and see the low process my city cousins pay for fuel, food, electricity etc

We live near the city, close enough that we are said to be part of Perth.truck wrote:$1.31 for diesel here in Townsville.

Middle ground for deso locally is $1.25
Have got family in the ville and prices here are on par with prices there. Some higher here, some higher there but overall about the same.
Edit: Just looked up todays prices of deso for comparo. $1.17 in the ville, $1.18 in Perth. So we're about the same as you are.

Re: When was the last time ........
I filled up the Bandit and car earlier this week, Monday I paid $94.7 for 98, Tuesday it had gone up to $101.7
South Australia, Adelaide in particular has had 91 fluctuating between $0.75 and $1.40 a litre.
The RAA has been asking for real time online price for a couple of years while other states have already had it, last week it was approved in parliament, my biggest fear now is that while we didn't have the real time pricing, we had independents pushing the prices down to the cheapest in the country, I just hope that they don't just leave prices higher now that they have notify every change. It would be a shame for the states motoring body to inadvertently push the cheaper cycle prices up

Ha all good dhula, good to see you're still around. I moved to the Ville about 20 years ago from out western QLD and still call meself country. I should have clarified when I say country I mean deep country. Places where the money is made but it ain't spent there, where the good people have to fly to the coast for a specialist or wait for the monthly speciaist to visit their fine town- if they are lucky there is an appointment time free. Places where dams can be built but aren't because the voting population is in the big smoke - and farms and livestock are not relying on rain year to year. Places where a regular airfare is offered without having to selling a kidney. Places where the towns are old and falling apart but the people aren't because they're country tough - in the most part. Places where everone knows everyone and say Gday when you walk past them on the street. I'm old school, and love country folk.
