Cb400 v-teh ride report .
Everyone raves about these things ,so I bought one to make up my own mind Actually for Carol . .(2007 $3000 ,condition v-good , 42,000kls )
Light and compact ,so compact a pain to work on . Everything crammed in and following wires is nearly impossible without removal of parts .
Honda use a connector that has 3 locking tabs with no "finger push points " . I had to angle grind 2 off them off on those connectors . Took me an hour to get the to one connector to code a spare key .HISS key system . Do NOT loose the key .
General Shed Servicing gets a ----- 2
General Finish -----6 not as good as I hoped . Plastic feel
Motor smoothness ----10 or 0 depends on what you like . Nice and Smooth or boring and smooth
About to go so a self isolating ride .
Im not a Honda person but dam that was good . Not sure about v-teh ,way can't I have full power ALL the time .
What ever you do don't change the Honda exhaust for a sports exhaust . It robs the low end power, and allows the high revs to rattle your brain to pieces . .It could do with a gear position read out because the revs confuse you , was constantly looking for another gear .
A small screen would have been nice .
Overall 9 . Dam GOOD

Mine came with a 150mm (yes 150mm )straight through exhaust . It wrecked the whole bike ,no power ,super loud ,super stupid .A stock muffler was $80 ,E-Bay.
THe rear fender had been removed ( tidy tail ) Don't ,it does rain in Tas .. Bar end mirrors , I see nothing , but the best was -----
Handle bar risers with flat bars fitted . Whats the point lol.
I saw it for sale 6 months ago ,he couldn't sell it . Not surprised and its a middle age persons bike who wants stock . It now owes me $3300 (front tire ,exhaust ,bars )

Some minor changes and it's useable.
It's really a nice UJM type bike, built to a budget, reliable and rider won't turn grey in a hurry. Maby5go down a few teeth on rear at next replacement, though that could be a while.
Glad your happy, and Carol's thoughts?

Carol likes it ,but that's about all the feedback I get . lol . I did think about the gearing (larger front or smaller rear )but thought I would make the 7000revs (v-tech kick in ) harder to get to .

So she'll be past 7k a lot, she's a hoon. Your riding style has worn off on her. Should keep going for years
( need to do your fuel system clean on my Bandit, read about it on forum, thanks for the pics and descriptions )
