New Road Trip Under Construction!
Just so you know what's coming...
Donna Odete* and Granddaughter (hers, not mine) are discussing women's stuff over dinner.
"I need a break," complains Granddaughter.
"Klein Kariba," quoth I.
(Klein "Klane" means small; Kariba is a lake with a waterfall; Klein Kariba is a holiday resort named after, but nowhere near, the aforegoing.)
All agree (as in: none dissent).
So after the all-important matter of who feeds the dogs gets settled, I raise a matter of principle: "You two drive; I ride."
They love driving. I manage to endure riding.
Thus, the seed is sown
In the near-as-possible future, bearing in mind me and my wallet are still comatose from the last trip, plus I need a new helmet, plus new tyres, plus the South African economy is in a recession that makes 1929 look like a picnic...
Oh bugger the excuses, let's start planning.
In the foreseeable future I shall be regaling you with the narrative of my forthcoming 2-wheeled pub crawl through the Blue Mountains.
Until then, keep it rubber side down.
*Wife is Portuguese. In Pora you don't just say "Sheila", you say "Miz Sheila". So she's not just Odete, she's Donna Odete.
