Kat EFI using Bandit 1250
As the heading suggests Iam adapting Bandit 1250 hardware and management onto my 1260 Kat.
So far so good, alot more to do.

Interesting idea - it appears to be progressing satisfactorily - what have been the challenges?

Why not a air ,oil cooled carb 1200 engine ? Wouldnt it have suited a kat more and been easier .? Just curious Probably just showing my age .

I have been very lucky so far with 6 months of planning and 4 days to convert to this point and no problems.
I think tuning the maps to suit my engine will be the biggest challenge, using the complete 1250 wiring harness has simplified the process.
Cheers Andrew.

I thought about it 1200 or GSX1400 conversion but in the end keeping the 1100 and increasing that capacity was easier (engine mounts, headers etc) and I was running GSXR750 carbs for a difference.
I have always had a love affair with EFI having converted a few cars in the past so I thought why not. But just not do the usual GSXR throttle body/after market ECM route.
Cheers Andrew.

And it will be different . Making that radiator look smaller is my only concern . It is big .

Re: Kat EFI using Bandit 1250
So far so good, the EFI is running fine in factory setup for now.
I did reduce the fuel pressure from 43psi to 35psi to help lean idle/part throttle.
Still needs remapping but have used it every day for work no dramas.
Also since I have the donor bike am adapting the forks and swingarm to fit my Kat as well.
mock up on spare frame
Bandit speedo sensor on my Kat
mounted to the sprocket nut
Its alive

Re: Kat EFI using Bandit 1250
Now that I have a functioning speedo I do like the other Bandit dash type, namely the 2010 1250FA style.
A mock up of sorts
would anyone here happen to have the specific wiring schematics for the 2010 1250FA as it has a different plug to the 07 1250S on I have.
Regards Andrew.

Excuse the music I had the radio on.
I have more videos but it takes ages to load and I'm off to work so will upload later.
Literally first run, still fine tuning and finishing off.
Cheers Andrew.

Also modified the airbox for better breathing,
adapting the 1250 Bandit filter housing and plastic welding it onto the Kat box
Also cut down a SGP Bandit filter to fit.
Before
After
Cheers Andrew.
