To Topic or not to Topic
To Topic Or Not Poll
A while back there was some discussion about the app Topic flogging itself to some users wanting to log on.
The Admin page now is being asked to allow the Topic app to be pushed to users by the following statement;
Your forum is now suitable for display on smartphones and tablets! Invite your members to download the Topic'it app.
Thanks to this invitation e-mail, they will find your forum directly in their Topic'it subscription.
I can press the button if people are interested.
Thoughts?

Re: To Topic Or Not Poll
I've no idea of the benefit/implications so I don't reckon I'm qualified to vote.

Although my phone did automatically add Topic during a recent update
If you do it I'll give it a crack, it can't be any worse than the current mobile version surely?
............. Can it?

Re: To Topic Or Not Poll
Personally , I see no real benefit over what I am doing now .............the forum is easy enough to access as it is , & I am on no other forum which also uses topicit to place all my forums so they can be accessed from one place . As a beside , the option to logon using topicit also appears on my log-on screen as well as my usual log on option even on my desk top computer ...............I'm not really interested .

Looks like this is actually from the underlying forum software provider Forumotion:
Topic'it link
I would not be surprised that this becomes the only way to display on a mobile phone or tablet a Forumotion based forum in the future.

I think you unfortunately may be right , which makes me wonder if it's for their benefit or oursbarry_mcki wrote:Looks like this is actually from the underlying forum software provider Forumotion:

Re: To Topic Or Not Poll
I keep on ignoring it.
I'm happy with what I'm doing now, I don't particularly want to change that, or forced to change anything out of my own will.

curiosity has got the better of me...
I've downloaded the app on my phone, atm it's useless because no forums I go on a conected, 2wa, it does have a link to a forumotion help forum
If you want to activate it I'll give it a try, if I/we don't like it we can give it the flick

Is it of any benefit , or does it make logging on any easier or better than the way we log on now ?Chook wrote:curiosity has got the better of me...

I'm not so sure once implemented into the forum format , you could give it the flick & get rid of it so easily either .
