Finally cracked 200
" />
Its taken 13yrs, but 200 000km`s has just rolled over.
Its taken a bit longer than anticipated, due to work, and two other bikes sharing the load.
Summery: This is on my Gen2, which I`ve chucked too much money at, and is now, far removed from a stock Bandit. Some days I hate it, other days I love.
Looking back, would I not do certain things I`ve done to the bike.... sure, but you don`t know unless you experiment, and this bike, is one bike, I will continue to do so with. Its an R&D bike, that I`ll play with, until I achieve what I want.

Impressive! My bike turns 10 in October and had a measly 41000 on the clock. Just shows how bullet proof the bandit motors are

44000 in 5 1/2 years, I reckon I'll be about the same
Re: Finally cracked 200
Cheers all.
Another fun interesting thing, at 170 000km's, i decided to replace the entire swing arm, linkage bearings, as i thought i should, given the amount of k's. So, after pressing the old ones out at work, then measuring them, compared to the new ones, they weren't worn at all, and i just wasted my money. The seals were worn, so the new ones didn't go astray.
Every Christmas, I re-grease everything. Still the same head set bearings, but every 100 000, i have and will, replace the wheel bearings.
There's one helicoil in the head, for the valve cover, and I think...soon to be two, going by the last valve check.
The axel lock nut does get a work out 2wheels.

200,000km! Most cars shit themselves by then. Congrats!
Would you say that like a favourite pair of Levis and favourite leather jacket, it gets more comfortable and personal the more you live in it?
My 1200 is 10 years old and hasn't cracked 15,000km yet.

Never going to get there. 46,000 in 6 years. Although I can estimate close to 10,000 in the next 6 months I can't see me keeping the GSX much longer than a year or 2 more.

Re: Finally cracked 200
Come on you lot.....ride them, don't look at them.
Three weeks ago, I cracked 300 000k's in my car.
Tomorrow, going down to Iluka, in NSW to visit friends, and on Tuesday, we're riding down to Dorrigo.
Can't wait to ride the East Dorrigo Way.
By the map, when we eventually hit east dorrigo way, it's about 80k's of twisty, then 80k back, before hitting the hum drum again.
I maybe riding down to Adelaide at Christmas to visit a cousin down they're. I'll be making that journey at least a 7000k return trip.

Oil paintings are over rated any how.....

Re: Finally cracked 200
Haha, I thought the topic was about cracking 200 kmh. But top effort. I never thought I'd buy a Mitsubishi but I did. I bought a '98 Triton 2.4 petrol ute. Did 250k in ten years on the same clutch, muffler and brake pads. I ran Castrol Magnatec in it and carried a tonne plus of gear.
The best I've done on a bike is 66k in two years on my trusty GS1000 GT shaft drive back in '86 - '87. I plan to keep my Bandit
as it's not worth selling it. I listened to my motorcycle mechanic when he said.."Make your next bike a Bandit. Leave it in the shed as long as you like. Go out, jump on it and off you go, no hassles". Best advice I've had.
