Hi all. Just got my first Bandit a couple of weeks ago a 2006 1200. Pretty sad as it has been crashed hard. Got a fair way so far. A bit stumped on headlight/ gauge options but otherwise progressing well. Should be registerable in a couple of weeks. Look forward to chatting to others about this bike. Got a few bikes so will also be interesting to see how the Bandit stacks up.
So far replaced both wheels with 1250 ones, seat retrimmed. got another tailpiece, new engine cover, bolt on end of crank, rear axle (was stripped!!!) Left footpeg bracket and shift rod, front indicators and rear lenses, front guard (GSX650 fits) ER6n mirrors (had them anyway) and standard mounts, battery, fork outer seals, clutch, gear and brake levers. Been a busy 12 days that I have had it. Depending on how much I like it is may become a Katana visually like the Unicorn ones. Tank has impressive dents. Not sure whether to fix or find another.

Welcome to the forum mate, new here myself.
Great job, always good to see a bike being resurrected, those oil boilers have a ton of character.

Welcome aboard.
That sounds like one almost rooted B1200. Have you checked the frame in a jig as it sounds like everything else has had a fair hit?

Thanks for the welcomes. The bike hasn't been checked. Visibly looks ok but will get straightened if I need to. Bike was a freebie from one of my former clients- his brother hit a roundabout at 200km/h. I think it would be damaged worse if that was true. Front wheel impressively buggered though.
I've seen Bandits for sale for $2.5k -3 k so don't want to spend too much on mine. Approaching $1k now. Might be $1500 on the road?
I have a couple of ZRX1200Rs and I met a guy with one recently who had done all sorts of mods to his ZRX but he reckons his standard Bandit was so much better. He is also an ex racer so I'm interested in his opinion. I've had short rides on 4 Bandit 1250s. Three were nice one not so- my mate has fiddled with his suspension so it is better.
