Drift Innovation HD170
My new bike video camera arrived today http://www.driftinnovation.com/hd170-action-camera on first impressions its bigger than I thought it would be but it feels well made. Cant wait to get it home and charge it up and bore you all with my videos lol
It arrived in 8 days from US including 2 weekends so I'm impressed with that.
I'll post a review when I get the chance to use it for a while.

so hows about a review?
What happens when the memory card fills up? Does it just delete the oldest and write over it?

Gormandale to Won Wron is on our 2012 WSBK route. As is Churchill to Mirboo North. I do get envious of your access to great roads mate.

Unsure if it overwrites the card. 16gb is good fr about 2hrs at 720p
Heavy duty battery lasts about 2hrs too so the way to go is carry spares of both but do you really want to sit through and edit several hrs of video?
My longest recording was about 45 mins that I cut down to 8 or 10 mins.
I reckon they are fantastic. I would like to run two one forward and one back. My software can edit two feeds. Otherwise you heed to do several runs using different camera angles and then try to splice the video at the same points. Not easy.
For about $300 for a full 1080p & 720p shock & water proof camera they are great value.
The hew model is much shorter than mine and could be mounted in more places.
Are they better than others on the market? I don't know but they would have to be great to be better!
Check my videos in my signature then imagine the raw video as clear as the best DVD you have seen. (Uploaded vids are compressed)
I'm happy to send someone a full sized MP4 on CD for a look.
Ask Santa if you think you've been good enough!
Re: Drift Innovation HD170
I'm really wanting it not for filming great roads... but for filming all the dick heads on the road...
My cousin is some obsessive computer geek and wants videos of dick heads doing stupid things for some promo of a gadget or something...
IDK but I wouldn't mind starting to publicly flame the people who just don't know how to drive....

I'm not in the glass house. I'm the window cleaner who gets hit by the rocks thrown between two bad drivers... I myself, am a fantastic driver...

+ 1 re the damn bug (I'll admit I tried to spray it:oops: ).
But, did notice UK Superbike mag in the newsagent. Picke dit up and it had tested this video camera against 2 others and rated it clearly the best of the 3 (pretty short reviews though). Wasn't feeling flush with readies so didn't buy the mag to read the whole review.

That would have been the new stealth. Same but black and smaller body and better sound.
Most buy GoPro without looking at others. Their loss if you ask me

Good clear video mate. BG music is always subjective. Ger a super clamp and use the crash bars as they are a bit distracting in my opinion.
Nice looking ride. Dodgy road surfaces in places.

Re: Drift Innovation HD170
Living in the Bega Valley Shire, Dogey Roads are just part and parcel, we have this lovely thing called a jet patcher its disaster for bikes as the lazy pricks on council won't sweep the roads after there finished so lots of small stones on corners

Whats the issue with the super clamp Jim?
I use mine a lot on the pillion mounts.
Its been smashed off the front down tubes and i straightened the bolt part and am still using it. That was the only time I didn't have a tether too. Clamp and camera survived!
Re: Drift Innovation HD170
Hey Jimcoleman that is very clear footage NICE!!
I have the same camera, but when I edit the footage I loose image quality. What program do you use to edit? I record on 720p.

Re: Drift Innovation HD170
I've tried a couple of spots with the GoPro. My helmet seems to move to much & some of the roads are to bumpy to have on the bike.
