Well the end of October marks the 9th birthday of my Silver Bullet. I haven't clocked up too many kms as life has gotten in the way a bit (a smidgen under 40000kms). I can remember the day of purchase at McCullochs in Perth like it was yesterday. I had to sign up then and there as it was the last day you were able to get the free givi touring kit. after a test ride I was sold on the new injected model and then rode it 200kms home the next day at 5am to make work. It's been a fantastic bike so far and has never let me down. The only downside has been the cheap paint, but it might get a birthday next year.

Nine years is a long relationship with anything, let alone a bike. When you're on to a good thing stick with it, hey?
Happy anniversary. 8-)

The bike was bought as my first open class coming from a GPX250 it felt like a rocket ship Smile Prior to buying it I rode all the bikes I thought ticked the box for good 2 up touring (and a few others) before deciding the Bandit was the best bang for buck bike out there.

My wife and I had originally intended to ride it across Australia, but she got up the duff and it never happened. We have however joined a few of you at this years Superbikes, so we've kind of done it. If I didn't buy a Bandit I wouldn't have joined the forum and had the pleasure of being part of such a laid back group of people. Next time we are over east I need to either ride my bike over, or buy a bike whilst I'm there and ride it home.

If you do it you've got somewhere to stay in Adelaide, I'm sure you'd have a bed in Melbourne as well, Barry Sheene Festival of Speed 2017 perhaps?

I don't plan on selling the bike anytime soon, so it'll be ready when you come over @madmax.

Cheers @chook I'll take a look at the dates
