Next Years Bathurst
I have an idea for the next Bathurst race.
50 laps only with compulsory fuel, tyre, brake and driver change.
The first 100 laps or so we're pretty boring. I could have gone for a good ride and still caught the good bits.

I hear that next year's race will be called the Hyundai 1000.

All that pit stop stuff is annoying. Winning by luck seems common place, Davison was so close to getting tangled up in the mess Whincup created

Those first 100+ laps are for the endurance, to wear down the teams. Sets it up for the manufacturers to produce a reliable car. Look at how many went out for breakdowns.
Yep certainly a good portion of the middle of the race was boring to watch, that's when you go get another beer.

Bathurst used to have four different classes all racing at the same time. Now, that was great to watch! How about Mini Coopers flogging GTHO's over the top of the mountain or Godzilla being knobbled because it was going to embarrass the other manufactures.
I stopped watching when it became a single class race of two brands that were near enough to be the same. V8's bore the shit out if me. Same cars. Same line. Bring on Touring cars, I say.

Aah the advantages of being an old timer. I remember when the motor bikes raced there!

And not even closely resembling those 2 brands except for the outer panels.
Always makes me laugh the Ford and Holden fans going nuts over who won the race, who's team is better

I've been 3 times and it was a great weekend but the sameness of all the cars has ruined it. Not to mention the loss of a lot of free to air coverage makes the season hard to follow.

Bring back Group A and any manufacturer who wants to have a go. Bring back conrod straight - not this BS conrod "bent".
