Hammy tossed up the idea a while back in the National Meet thread, at the time I was keen to go back to the WSBK's after last years great meet. It looks like that's not going to happen now, anyone else  interested in going to this?
Anyone from Tas/Vic/SA/Southern or Western NSW could meet up and ride together for a day or 2 on the way there, I'd get to Hay or Echuca comfortably the 1st night.

Me and Willow might be able to get to the meet, but not sure about which route I'd be travelling just yet.  Are we looking at a house again if the numbers are enough ?

Can you do a bit of a search too Barry, I can find a few Dog Friendly places reasonably close but nothing that'll fit a group of us with our bikes, I have also found plenty of well priced houses for a group but none even remotely close to Eastern Creek that'll let Willow stay

How did you go with getting the time off?

If at least one more is a definite I'll book the time off this week, if there is only a couple of us perhaps a cabin somewhere?

Let me know, if it's a goer for you I'll put in for leave the day after.

If it ends up being just the 2 of us I'll work out a night 1 catch up and we can ride up together

I'm considering heading up to BrisVegas after to catch up with my brother then head back via Broken Hill

The Festival of Speed starts on the Thursday, I was thinking of arriving in Sydney on the Wednesday evening

I've just put in for Monday March 20th to Thursday April 13th, should be ok to get it approved

I had a bit of a look at accommodation - not very successfully. Most places seem pretty expensive, which might add to limiting the number of days people can attend.

House "A" is gone, "B" is still available 5 nights for between 1 and 6 = $700, "C" is also sill available, between 1 and 8 =$700, maybe subject to other fees?? 30 min from the track, If I could get 4 or more definites I'd start making enquiries.

https://www.stayz.com.au/accommodation/nsw/sydney/windsor

The house is perfect for a family or just a group of friends that want to spend the weekend in the Hawkesbury enjoying the fabulous atmosphere that the Windsor town brings. We are in Freemans Reach situated 5 minutes from the historic town of Windsor and the Hawkesbury River where there is plenty of activities including water skiing and Powerboat events. You may be travelling through town and are looking for an overnight stay, which at times can be very hard to find. The house has parking and is on a 5 acre property.

I have a total of 3 houses on the property so if this house is taken see my other properties or enquire as other houses may be available.

There is more to be saved self catering than staying in a cheap motel, houses or even cabins can work out much cheaper than a motel with a group sharing the cost (PI was a great example this year)

I made some enquiries with the organisers about this event, this is their reply I received this morning, I'll change the topic title ti reflect the name change

Good Morning Ian,

Apologies for the delay in responding to your query.  Yes the dates are 23rd – 26th March with Thursday 23rd being a practice day for competitors.  There is no entry charge for spectators to enter on the Thursday.

The tickets are available now through https://www.stickytickets.com.au/45197/the_international_festival_of_speed.aspx

You will note that there has been a name change to International Festival of Speed but please be assured that there is no difference in the meeting at all although www.barrysheenefestivalofspeed will still take you to the new meeting name.

The revamped website will be going live this week now that we have confirmed the appearance of Giacomo Agostini.

Thank you for taking an interest in the meeting and I hope that you and your mates enjoy the meeting.

Regards
Peter

Good work Ian, now just need to organise the accommodation.

I now finish work on the Sunday night, so the earliest i could leave is first thing Monday morning. However I'm more than likely going to leave Tuesday morning and spend Tuesday and Wednesday travelling up there.
Will be looking for a route that avoids as much as possible of the Hume, will work that out some time later.
On the return I must leave early Monday morning as I am back at work on the following Wednesday.

If we can get a couple more definites we can book one of the 2 houses

I'm thinking of meeting you en route, perhaps wherever the nights stopover for you will be, although I am considering riding Adelaide - Benalla in a day, the owners of the Glider City Motel have sponsored me the past 3 or 4 years in the Great Cycle Challenge and I kind of feel like I owe them a night, I could meet you there on your 1st day

Sleeping arrangements look better in the first one. Single bed - single room.

Like the pool in the second one.

Need to know about lockup garage and distance to track.
