Bathurst......
This wanker did 3 laps of Bathurst on the way home from WSB . I was told it was hilly , but didn't expect what it actually was .Well worth the effort .

It sure as hell is an eye opener isn't it Gus. You just can't tell how steep it is on TV

Re: Bathurst......
a year ago or so, I rode my former ride(gsf 1250-...1460cc)bandit to a cx 500 show in cowra.we went for a ride to Bathurst on the Saturday,it was the day the track closed the week before the race.it was lovely weather and the fun police were everywhere.a fellow from the club "knew some people" so I was able to "open the bandit up a little" over the top of the mountain.it was scary shit.evryone who loves a challenge should make the time to visit Bathurst,oh and they should do putty road and bells line into Lithgow to get there, wear your bloody warm gear though cause its the coldest ride ive ever done.i don't get out much as you can all tell.

Unfortunately the only one who was really impressed was me, even after I got the tyres howling on the corners .................Just dad being dad againBackonabandit wrote:hey paul from s.a, you sound like a tripper, imagine how that conversation went, hey love why don't we take the kids for a spin around mt panorama,oh look its just over there on the left of us,see the white sign!

Re: Bathurst......
Certainly a lot of fun, even with the speed restrictions and the odd car coming the other way, and as for the Dipper, what an understatment that title is.
You watch the 1000 and see three V8's getting round the track side by side, I felt crowded on the bike, some truely tallented and gutsy people that get behind the wheel during the big race.

Re: Bathurst......
My daughter and I did it 2up on our way home from QLD, even at the ridiculously slow speed limit with 3 highway patrol cars also doing laps I couldn't get enough, it's a real eye opener
My daughter took this next shot looking past me, the photo still doesn't do it justice

When we did the Cowra meet 18 odd months ago, it was the first time I'd done the Mountain on a bike. Holy Crap! The dipper was totally different to driving it in a car.
Barry, of course you felt crowded, some mongrel was always up your left side

Re: Bathurst......
I would sit thru the entire Bathurst racing, with my dad, every year, and even at a young age, I knew it was hilly, cause you see them getting airborne over the rises... nah, im staying away from that this weekend. I have no hills, sharp incline, sharp decline, experience. lol

Re: Bathurst......
nice gus.if you know enough about your bike youd know that anything serious is gonna need a workshop,so keep tools basic.as long as you've got cash, you don't need a travelling roadshow.
