The easy way to get collets and valves out . A socket with small extension over spring . Hit with a hammer and collets fall out . First hit tends to loosen them ,second one they fall out .

That has definitely kissed the piston. What failed in the timing side of things?

Sadly you should find all 16 valves bent. Somehow it skipped a few teeth I suspect whilst having a little impromptu lay down, short version, I pulled off in some gravel that dropped away steeper that I thought.

Just the day before it was hitting some very naughty numbers, as I said I'd like to know it's secrets because it had a very un-bandit like topend (a surge at 9,000rpm) as well as a lovely induction growl at about 5,000 rpm.
