GSX vs GSF Fork Springs
Jaba recently sent me his old stock springs from his GSX 1250, I pulled one of my GSF 1250 springs and took them over to Ikon suspension (Proven) in Albury for comparison.
Visually the close wound section the same spacing between coils but slightly longer on the GSX and the wide wound section is slightly wider spacing, both are the same length and wire diameter.
Ikon results show the rates are almost identical and the results they have given me are;
GSF Soft rate of spring 8.9 Hard rate 14.5
GSX Soft rate of spring 9.0 Hard rate 15.6 Measurements are in Newton/ millimeter
Peter from ProMechA in Melbourne has his doubts on the accuracy of the hard rate, he thinks the reading is too high, that aside, both Peter and Ikon agree that you would not feel a difference between the 2 springs and that if you need heavier springs from stock then these just won't do it.
Note this post is for information only for all those like me that wondered if the GSX springs would be enough of a change of spring rates to make them a viable option.

Thanks Brigand, that answers the question I was wondering about elsewhere.

If you have a spare set of either, cut the tightly wound coils off then grind the remaining coil flat. Make a longer spacer, then try that for giggles.
Im 105 KG and the GSX springs were out of range.

that's the great thing about dual rate springs...they can be both too hard and too soft at the same time...not to mention the damping can only match one of the spring rates or you can compromise and match neither.

It sounds like you guys will be chasing a 1.0 and 1.1 spring to get the front end to work properly for you. You can do the spring without removing the forks from the bike if the oil doesn't need replacing.You just need to get the spacers cut to length by a machinist and drop them in whilst trying not to lose the damping rod
