Moving on
I wanted a fresh challenge to decided to change the bike. Change is the operative word, have gone for a new Aprilia Caponord 1200, so italian V twin quirkiness over smooth and reliable jappa fourness
No fault of the 1250, loved every minute of ownership, really wanted something different.
Have to say I have enjoyed this forum. Always helpful, always willing to share and rarely have sheep been mentioned. So in that light I shall refrain from mentioning rugby (not I suspect, that the majority of Aussies give a fig lol)
I have a couple of bits from the GSX spares bin up for sale if anyone is interested. An OE shock, a Vario Screen and a set of levers (clutch and brake)
Intend to hang around to enjoy the stories on here
Here are a few pics of the of the italian stallion, or Ice Wolf as the wife has dubbed her.....

Re: Moving on
My riding mate Steve has one...took a bit of sorting, something about the flapper valve...apparently goes a lot better since it was permanently set to open,

Re: Moving on
yep, known fueling issues, which I knew about going into ownership. I did say quirkiness!
this is a later build one I have so the flapper thing is fixed, apparently. Had a remap and getting a one tooth smaller front sprocket to fix the "not liking lower speed" stuff. Its geared quite high stock.

Typical I-talian, I remember road tests complaining of ridiculously tall gearing in the days on the 900SS desmo 40 years ago...Ulsterkiwi wrote:yep, known fueling issues, which I knew about going into ownership. I did say quirkiness!

Lovely bit of kit. I think that you will have some great rides with her.

We'll look forward to a few pics of creek crossings and falling off in the mud!

I love creek crossings on the GS. Top opportunity to wash her in only the purest mountain water. None of that fluoridated (sp?) crap out of the tap...
