Throttle cables.

Does anyone know if the throttle cables on the GSX1250FA need oiling,or are they nylon lined and thus maintenance free?

In my opinion and experience any lube attracts dirt and crud.
Once you start you'll have to keep doing it.

graphite powder isn't so bad

 I do agree. I wouldn`t flood the system with it. Graphite Powders are better.

But for pivot points where the cables attach, it can help eliminate corrosion from high wear points.

Old cables that have corrosion existing, it will help tremendously. My DRZ400 has been around the traps, ridden in all
circumstances, and the cables on that are getting long in tooth, I do spray it every 3mths.
4 times a year is nothing for up keep. Takes a couple of seconds.

For cables silkolene silkopen is the go. It has graphite in the spray and turns a sticky cable into a silky smooth action.

Yes...silicon/Teflon sprays are good.

Not heard of this stuff but it looks good.

I've been using Tri-Flow silikon pushbike chain and cable lubricant on all of the pivot points on the Bandit since it was new, works a treat, a couple of drops each side and move the lever/footpeg/stand etc etc and you can instantly feel the difference
