Suzuki parts
So where are we with getting spare parts at the moment . With the USA exchange rate and postage it seems to have made importing stuff expensive .
I need a starter clutch (not Bandit ) and it seems like the local dealer is my only real option and it not cheap either .

Re: Suzuki parts
Things ain't cheap mate. When we were over in the US in June/July it wasn't any cheaper to buy and carry ourselves it the exchange rate and taxed. Clothes and shoes were the exemptions. Anything auto or electronic just wasn't worth it this time.
Re: Suzuki parts
This is a bit of a worry. Also along with when the GST comes in.
I guess all you can do is research the best you can, weigh up the odds of cost over and time of delivery.
If I ever needed OEM parts, I use to use PARTSHARK, in the U.S, and their prices were half the price of here.
With PARTSHARK, the more you buy, the less postage you pay.
When the AUS dollar was 1.05, I got new GSXR cams to my door, for $480, and if I was to buy them here, they were going to be $1000.
Even with the AUS dollar the way it is, it still would be cheaper through them.
My buying habits will change when the GST does come in though.

Re: Suzuki parts
So how did you go Gus?
I`ve just been searching, as I need an OEM part, and came across "Mick Hone" in VIC.
Looked at their partsfish, and I really can`t complain about "Some" of the new OEM prices.
I don`t know if you have looked at that site, or have found a cheaper one, but worth a look.
Cheaper and quicker delivered, than the US one I was using.(Due to AUS dollar)

Re: Suzuki parts
I figured I could put up with the starter clutch noise ,especially as the bikes not registered . Its stuffed but I doubt it going to do any damage to anything else . At the moment i'm looking for a lhs main fairing plastic in good cond .(tlr) Impossible to find . Suzuki want $900 , not going to happen as I paid less for the whole bike .
Suzuki in uk have a deal for older bikes with half price parts . Have asked about it hear but get a look .
