VW......anybody been watching the news?
First topic message reminder :
So...one of the worlds biggest brands tarnished by lying of emission claims!!
They purposely developed software, to cheat emission standard claims while been tested.
It is now stated that 11million cars world wide, have been fitted with cheating software, to pass emission laws, and VW, well, they`re in big trouble.

Thanks to Volkswagen, I'm now even starting to doubt if Herbie was a true story.

We couldn't close it , & the lad in there kept lifting lifting it up to wave at other people, which made it interesting to see where we were going

Bloody VW`s...my Brother is 52, and still has his first car(beetle) he bought when he was 17.
He`s one of those nuts, that has devoted his life to VW`s, and has almost every model ever made..."almost"
When I first told him about this story, he was in denial, and that VW would never do such a thing, and was trying to come up with excuses, that it was a scam.
I just laughed. He was serious too.
He now doesn`t talk about it. Reality has set in!!!!

My mistake, I thought you were talking about the back boot not the front boot - I am old school where the boot was at the back of the car not the front.paul wrote:

The beetle also had an area behind the rear squab .....sort of a boot but not like the type 3 notchback ..............showoff , but any self respecting VW owner made a parcel shelf for it & fitted speakers in itBosco15 wrote:I had a VW with a boot at the front and at the back.

Never did get around to securing that shelf, periodically the shelf would fall into said cavity, don't remember actually storing anything there.
I did upgrade the manual pump windscreen washers to electric jobbies purchased from K Mart.

I can remember one of my old trade school teachers building himself a light plane powered by a supercharged VW motor

I now see that Porsche have been pulled into this game.
But if your buying a Porsche, your not going to care about emissions anyway

A work mate of mine has just been through the wringer with vw Australia over a warranty claim that they won't honor. It has to be one of the worst cases of poor customer service I've heard of in years. Worst is that he can not even trade the car due to this ecu software problem not being rectified in Australia

I think that needs to be publicly recognised.

Don't buy a car or get it serviced at geographe motor group, especially a Volkswagen http://www.bunburyvolkswagen.com.au/vw/paul wrote:+ 1 ................name & shamemtbeerwah wrote:reddog wrote:A work mate of mine has just been through the wringer with vw Australia over a warranty claim that they won't honor.
