Spotted under the Bridge in Adelaide
Hi there,
After work last week I got back to my trusty, but rather old, Bandit parked up under the Morphett Street bridge in Adelaide, to find a scrap of paper tucked in the seat. T’was a note from Chook inviting me to take a look at this forum. So I surfed, browsed and found a whole world of Bandits - I had no idea - so I registered.
Anyway, by way of introduction, I love my old Bandit, a real commuting work horse these days – every day, rain or shine about 15k into the city. Not been out on the highways in recent years, though could be enticed.
Having moved from the UK in 2000 and I had to sell my 1996 Bandit, (too complex to import). I set aside a bike budget had a look around and found myself buying another new Bandit in 2001! Now 14 years on and only 76k on the clock, still going strong. Only a few cosmetic Powerbronze mods, a Yoshi and scuffs - reminds me I must give it a clean sometime soon.
So hi there and stay safe, we got wet roads out there today.
PS was quite something to see two Suzuki’s on the front row of the Barcelona Moto GP – first since Chris Verm it seems – shame they got swamped by the first corner.

Re: Spotted under the Bridge in Adelaide
Welcome along Ath, I'm glad the convention centre gave me something to write with/on, look forward to catching up on a ride day (or overnighter) some time
Re: Spotted under the Bridge in Adelaide
Sounds like a great idea - long overdue straying from my commute route.
Hoping the weather improves though.
BTW it took me about 6 years of lobbying Adelaide Council to set up that bike park under the bridge.
A great spot to park up out of the weather and handy for me - close to the office.

Well done, it was a total waste of space before and now you would have to be able to fit at least 50 bikes undercover. It was great for me heading into the convention centre for a couple of hoursAth wrote:Sounds like a great idea - long overdue straying from my commute route.

Re: Spotted under the Bridge in Adelaide
Many thanks for the warm welcome
Ath is short for Atholl - a Scottish name where Mum & Dad hailed from.
Shame the Adelaide weather is not so warm just now I always seem to be getting chased down by black clouds on the commute home
Still beats the UK weather any day
Happy to have swelled the ranks of Bandits and looking forward to a meet sometime
