Up stairs pub rooms, reasonable beds, basic shared bathrooms, bikes in carport or garage for the night, good value meals in dining room or front bar
Bordertown Hotel, Bordertown
79 East Terrace Bordertown
(08) 8752 1016
Upstairs basic pub accommadation, $40 p/n including self serve continental breakfast, comfy bed, awesome shower, friendly staff, bikes locked up securely in either a locked/alarmed or just locked shed, if you prefer there is a veranda you can leave it under.
Only downside, could do with heating in the room, only has cooling on the AC
Frances Hotel, Frances, SA
Railway Terrace Frances
(08) 87645 1093
Large motel unit with spa, $135 p/n
As above, minus the spa, $125 p/n
The second area has back packer style accommodation with either 2 single beds, or 1 single bed and a bunk bed per room. Those rooms are $50 p/n for 1 or 2 and a extra $15 if there is a 3rd staying in the room.

Re: South Australia - Bike Friendly Accommadation
madmax and I stayed there Saturday night on my way home from the Grampians, the pub style rooms are a step above most similar rooms and are in a accommodation block separate to the pub itself, they also have a guest kitchen, dining and lounge room to use, $50 a single is great value, $50 a double or $65 for a triple is amazing value for what you get. The pub serves awesome pub food all day and it's bistro meals are to die forChook wrote:

The photos are average but will give you a bit of a idea on size etc
The publican a bar/kitchen staff were all very friendly, as were all the locals
roughly 1/2 way from Melbourne to Adelaide, a top little spot for a 2 state meet up

Gladstone SA
Conyngham Cottage
This place would be a good place to base if touring the Southern Flinders Ranges
0,5km walk to pub with traditional pub fare, mains (Chicken Schnity) start at $16, nothing over $26
http://www.conynghamcottage.com.au/
Self contained 2 bedroom cottage
Bed 1, double
Bed 2, 2 x singles
No carport but a side gate gets you out to a large well maintained back yard that lead off a veranda (no step up) that would easily fit 4 or 5 bikes under cover
BBQ, outdoor dining area
2 x lounge rooms
$100 for 1, + $20 for each extra person

Naracoorte,
Bushman's Arms Hotel
$60 per night, en suite pub room
Bike Security - Awesome, locked in the Grog Shed
Meals - Good
Beer - Cold
Staff - Friendly
Room - Bed, shit, picked the best of 2, only sagged 8-10", the other sagged into the ensemble base, shower, average at best, AC, was nearly cool by 6am 10 hours after the cool change came through
4/10, a new AC and bed would give it a 8
BTW, mm would probably rate it higher, he took spanna's room with the good AC and had a better bed

Victoria Hotel Strathalbyn
A few of us stayed there Saturday night. It's a old pub that has been tastfully updated, nice outside area on the footpath, good meals.
The rooms are Motel style, not Pub rooms
The three star (better than some 4 star I've stayed in) motel units are on the 1st floor of and extension that covers the whole rear yard. Under the rooms is like a big undercover back yard where they keep gas bottles, large bins and plenty of parking for the 7 bikes we had there
Rooms start at $150 for a single, double or twin, most have a Queen and single beds. The beds are among the most comfortable hotel or pub beds I've slept in. A basic continental breakfast is included, they do cooked breakfast in the dining room from 8:00 or the bakery which is just 100m down the road is open at 6:30 for Coffee, typical bakery items and cooked breakfast.
By 7:30 on a Sunday there was motorbikes and riders everywhere meeting up before the days rides.

Peterborough Hotel, Peterborough SA
I should have put this up when it was fresher in my memory, paul and I stayed there in April this year.
https://www.facebook.com/PeterboroughHotel/?rf=111572715569695
We were booked into a twin pub room, $60 with plenty of space, a very comfy bed, a wardrobe, fan and short walk to either of the bathrooms.
There is also a Lounge/Kitchenette for house guests to use.
Bikes were locked up in the back yard as the owner had been trying to get development approval for a dedicated bike shed out back. Recently they posted on facebook that the bike shelter was finished (weren't given approval to put walls up, they were accused of using it a an excuse to build another tore shed.
The pub closed it kitchen some time back but leased it and a room onto the street for a café to be run from. As well as supply dine in and takeaway from the café, it also supplies pub meals served in either the front bar or dining room.
There was a larger downstairs room, I can't recall the cost but it had a bed in the main room and 2 ib a bedroom, pretty sure it was around $120 per night, singles were about $40 or $50 a night

The under cover bike area ( and BBQ shed) is finished
The kitchen is gone but the railway hotel about 50m down the road has great meals
