Why Wait for a National Ride? NSW riders unite!
Since a few more local riders have joined it got me thinking, I know I couldn't believe it either!
So, I think some rides are in order, a day ride, I'm thinking Grey Gums Cafe for lunch. This one gives the Sydney and Newcastle riders some good options.
Also expressions of interest for a NSW overnight ride, since most of us just did Parkes we have a choice of North of centre or South of centre depending on the most interest. I think South since the Northern Riders are a bit thin.
Let the discussions begin!

I was thinking the same but a weekender would be more suited to those in Southern NSW than the one's further NorthRe-Cycled wrote:paul wrote:You could meet us in Edenhope............That's south/ish.

I'd be interested in an overnighter Re-C, but I haven't given the destination any thought.

I checked and it's still 1000km each way for the South Coast Fun Riders or whatever they're called, not exactly an easy day ride. I thought about you're ride but would need a minimum of 4 days.
I want to get some one and two day rides happening.

That's good Dave, hopefully someone can come up with some good suggestions. I still want to do the Boonang but that's beyond the scope of what I'm aiming for here.
One ride I do want to do, and I will, is Thunderbolts to Walcha then Oxley and stay overnight at Port Macquarie and come back the same way the next day. The last couple of time I've done the Oxley riding into the sun in the afternoon. This is within range for Sydney riders if they are keen but a bit beyond South Coasties for a 2 day ride.
Anyway I'm keen to do something that suits you Dave and others in the South East corner. My brother and I managed to join Cameron and Co. at Penrith and still do Narooma on one of the early Forum Rides.

You're like a soccer player, Pete.
You get the ball rolling.
A quick look at the map. How about Putty, Bells, overnight at Lithgow. On to Goulburn via Jenolan caves, on day two. The line on the map looks plenty bendy.
Scope for Southerners to join in. An interesting excursion at the caves. May even get a group discount.
Then drone up the freeway to home or add another night and some more blue lines.

You need to be a bit wary of the Oxley during winter. Some of it gets very little sun & gets very greasy. (moss or something else green)

I had an initial look at somewhere in the Southern Highlands, Bowral, Mittagong, etc or even Kiama. Options include: the Kangaroo Valley rd, Macquarie Pass, Bungonia Gorge, or all of them!

If we could meet up at Tarago and overnight there, the next day we could do Nerriga, Nowra, Kangaroo Valley, Macquarie Pass, over night somewhere like Jamberoo and then home to either north or south.
