Went for a ride, sore shoulder Empty Went for a ride, sore shoulder

Post  turbo_brian Wed 15 Apr 2015, 9:22 am

So, over the easter long weekend (yep, wet and double demerits, 2 reasons many weaker species dont ride), I decided to go for a little ride.

I left Campbelltown about 3am, arrived in Tweed heads some 11 hours later, and had a slightly sore shoulder, nothing really to bother about.

I left Sunday arvo about 1pm, got about 2 hours away, and my shoulder was KILLING ME!!!!

Pulled into a servo, grabbed pain killers, and for the next 9 hours, I was punching 2 tablets every 3 hours.

Over a week has past from my 'little ride', and the shoulder is still giving me greif, wifey rubs it each night and each morning (if she is awake before I leave) and it feels great for a few hours, but the dull ache is back.

Any thoughts or suggestions?

(note: during the ride I was using a vista-throttle lock, rotating my shoulders, flapping my arms to stay loosened and relaxed, not locking my shoulders or elbows while riding)

Read up on here about changing handle-bars and/or their height.  It could be that your height and sitting position is causing your wrists and arms to be in an unnatural position that is then transferred to your shoulders.

Some members on here have raised whilst others lowered their OEM bars.  Others (myself included) have gone to an after-market brand like Renthals.

Here's a bit of info that might help in determining what's right for you:

Some of us aren't as " taut " as we used to be ,& the thought of all that loose skin flapping around in the breeze while trying to gain a tight enough hold of the throttle to operate it is enough to give all decent folk nightmares  Shocked pale  Laughing

You stretched it a bit too much during your recent binge of red arsed monkey sex holiday, did you?

And where, around here, would we find these decent folk of which you speak?
