Bikes You Remember But Are All But Gone
Yamaha XZ550, from 1982/83. My brother owned one in 1985 but I don't reckon I've seen one for sale in the last 30 years. Shaft drive, V-twin.

Suzuki GT550
My old mans last motorcycle. His was a police version offered to the WA police that they chose not to adopt. I think they went for the Hondas instead.
Similar to this one here, his also had a huge front fairing and screen

I only posted the other day about a number of bikes I used to own, namely:
GPZ250 '83. A belt drive Kawasaki!
RD350L ' 82. Not too many around these days!
They will live on in my memories!

And then there is the vx800, 800cc V-twin, shaft drive sports tourer. Took it out for a test ride today and it really is a pleasure to ride, feels as light as a feather compared to the Bandit. I couldn't make myself head for home... 200km later I thought I'd better fill up as I really had no idea if the new setup was heavy on fuel. worked out to be 19km per litre, about the same as before I refurbished.

I regularly check in to see what's on sale in Bikesales. Not many bargains come up. There is a brand new GPZ900 still in its crate for $25k!!! That's why I've put a couple of oldies in the shed - fingers crossed they might become valuable!

How about this '82 GS550M Baby Katana.

That'll be a nice little project for you spanna. It's a great feeling to breath life back into an oldie. Err, perhaps I should rephrase that!
