You are supposed to let us have a guess before giving the answer Can we play another one.

So "would you have guessed what's being installed tomorrow " may have been more accurate ?

Good one Brian.
I put a Pyramid hugger on the non Bandit a couple of weeks ago. My second one and will buy another when the time comes.
interesting it was cheaper and faster to buy direct than from the West Aussie distributor. Got it in my hands in 8 days from ordering.

Yeah I got it from https://www.motorradgarage.com.au in WA, cost including delivery was $213
Took a little longer than 8 days, I ordered it a few weeks ago but they didn't have any in stock. I'd actually forgotten all about it. They were supposed to contact me and let me know when it was being shipped, oh well came as a surprise so all good,

Yes they're usually pretty good but told me it would be 6 weeks. I contacted Pyramid through their eBay site and was told they're in stock at $185 delivered so I went with them and tracked it all the way. Interestingly it spent 3 days at Austpost in Melb!

Re: Guess what's being installed tomorrow? :)
So you know your in for a bad day when you go down to get a haircut and the hairdresser is closed That should have been my first warning, but no I took the opportunity to get an early start on the hugger.
You need to take off the chain guard and muffler. the chain guard was easy, and even though I have taken off the staintune on numerous occasions I had no end of trouble this time. The bolt that goes through the pipe clamp had seized in place.
I managed to wrestle the muffler off and then spent the next hour or so trying to remove the bolt from the clamp. After drilling it out and retapping the hole. It was time to move on to fitting the hugger.
The instructions are poorly written. They describe installing a clamp onto the right hand side of the swing arm. But they are not very clear about how far down the swing arm to install it.
So I ended up fitting the hugger to the left side and working out where the right hand clamp need to fit by how the hugger sat over the tyre. All good so far.
The clamp has 3 captive nuts pressed into the inner plate, of course one of these had to let go! The nut is not hex its round! so you can't squeeze in there with a spanner, had to try and hold it with multi grips while undoing the bolt.
Once out I removed the clamp and welded the nut in place
The 5 M6 bolts they supply are crap, they plus the 3 captive nuts all needed rethreading to clean up the threads.
The offending captive nut.
The clamp on the right hand side of the swing arm
In the end I have it fitted just in time to ride it to work this afternoon. However I need to remove the clamp and repaint it . I think I might weld the other 2 nuts at the same time.
At least the plastic looks good, though I'm not sure what the dent in the top sides is for.

The LH (chain) side looks great, it's a pity they had to add the big clamp rather than use existing mount hole on the RH side

+1 on the bracket.
I'm sure if you have a scratch around, MM, you will be able to find a nice bit of alloy angle that you can shape to fit from the hugger to the brake hose bolt. Painted black it will look like a bought one.

That's a good idea, but it will have to wait. In the meantime I'll just fix up the original

Re: Guess what's being installed tomorrow? :)
I never fitted one on the Bandit but did on the FZ1 and that mounted on the RH side through the brake hose clamp hole as suggested above.
That clamp system is BS. Not what I'd expect from Pyramid.

Re: Guess what's being installed tomorrow? :)
The pruig design for the right hand bracket is a much better design and is very unobtrusive. This bracket for yours almost looks like an afterthought considering the price that the pyramids are worth

Well that's exactly what I did
Working out where the second bolt hole needs to go
Test fit before painting
The finished bracket (what a work of art )
And the finished job
