G'day
A new bike and a new forum.
My name is Sean and I recently bought a very nice dark blue GSX1250FA. Upgraded from the GSX650FU.
I've been riding for 3 years and had 3 bikes, a trend that I hope to break with my current ride. Live in the ACT but don't hold that against me
I'm hoping that my yoshy will turn up soon as it's almost criminal not to hear the bike when it gets into it.

G'day, welcome to the forum. How do you like the step up to the 1250?
Am I right in saying that this is the first GSX1250FA to sign up?

Hello and welcome. I think you might be the first GSX1250FA to sign up. Can't wait to eyeball your bike.

Welcome mate
and yes, our first GSX member.
And its only taken 99 members =P
Have a look in national rides...there is an overnighter down south in October, you might be interested in...we pass through goulburn, so no doubt we can meet up with you somewhere along the route

Re: G'day
Hi Sean,
I spotted a FA Bandit near the airport last week, without the top box. Might have been yours? Very nice. I live in Queanbeyan, but don't hold that against me. Isn't Canberra just THE best place to have a bike at this time of year? No not really.
See you around.
Tony.

Might have been. If it was Monday arvo, then that would have been me. I don't think there are many on the roads. I know CMC Mitchell only have 2 on display and I bought their only blue onerolls wrote:Hi Sean,

I'm a bit of a forum whore. I may not post a lot but I am signed up to several of the bigger bike forums and for locals, CanberraRiders is pretty damn good, when the weather gets warmer. Now I don't have any excuses not to head north or south to meet up with other bandit riders. Just need to get another job that doesn't involve shift work

Let me see if I can find the right emoticons -Sloth_27 wrote:How do you like the step up to the 1250?
Reading through the manual, it said to keep under 4500 RPM for the first 800k's. Well I took the bike to an undisclosed straight bit of road and found out what the bike will do at 4500. F**K me!!
No, Dhula, I'm not stalking you

Re: G'day
Low sided the bandit today on the way to work.
https://s203.photobucket.com/albums/aa97/skb-kaz/Crashed/2010%20Bandit/ (linked fixed, I hope)
Intersection of Ashley Drive and Sternberg Crescent. Map link
Turning right, rear end lost traction and I had a horizontal dance with my bike. Damp, oil or something else, I don't know but I hit it.
Started first time once I got it back on the stand. Big thanks to the driver who stopped and helped me pick up the bike(who also happended to be a rider as well).
I had time to make the corner but should of listened to my inner safety voice which said to stop and wait. Might not have changed the outcome but it would have been at a lower speed.
Fucking cut up about the yoshy and fairing damage. I've been looking for crash knobs for a while and was going to order some once the web site actually listed the GSX1250FA.

Re: G'day
Hopefully the link will work now, not sure what happened there. I can feel the holes in the exhaust when running, it should do until I can get another one. Can't claim the pipe, as it wasn't on my policy. I'll get a quote on a new fairing and see if my little brother knows someone that might be able to paint up the fairing.

Re: G'day
Whoa dude, glad you're ok. Do you always wear shin pads?
Not sure if this was on Netrider but RG racing does frame sliders:

Now you're really making me think I should get some as I'm still getting used to the weight of the bike

Re: G'day
When I first bought some kevlar jeans, I wanted some extra protection, hence the knee/shin guards. Never leave home without them. Sure worked wonders today.
As for the crash pads, I was going to get a set next year, seeing as Christmas time will deliveries will increase the waiting time.

Re: G'day
Whoa dude, not nice. How much is she insured for? You might find with all that damage(even though its mainly supaficial) that it could go close to a write off. Once you add up all the bits that are scratched(and therefore need replacing under insurance) it could be a large repair bill. If it does get repaired, just get the repairer to quote and fit a new yoshi, as the insurance company will probably see that as a good cost saving for them(I'd hate to price a new suzi muffler). Glad to hear you got away alright and could still ride home.

Full comp insurance for market value but pipe was not on the policy. I'll buy another pipe and see if I can get the fairing colour matched and painted again.whitey1 wrote:Whoa dude, not nice. I'd have to pay the $500 excess at any rate and much rather keep my claims low so when I really do need it, I wont be penalised for having too many at fault claims.

R&G Frame Sliders
I just bought a pair of R&G frame sliders after I almost dropped my bike today.
http://www.rg-racing.com/browseType/Crash_Protectors/Suzuki/GSX-1250_FA/CP0267BL.aspx
Can't wait to get them! Wish they weren't so darned expensive though, paid a total of $306

Re: G'day
I ordered the lot, front axle protectors, engine covers and crash pads.
Unfortunately, my week has gone from bad to worse. Got rear ended today and now the bike is more damaged. Started first time after I got it up though. Now the wait for assessors and all that stuff. Meanwhile, I'm bikeless and pissed off.
