'07 1250s Fairing
G'day Mates !!
Bike is still running STRONG (almost 6 months later. and 1000 mi.) !!
Thanks for all your help.
I bought a front fairing on eBay that was supposed to be an '07, but when I put it on the front lined up good, but the back
seemed to be about 1-1/2" too long and the rear bolt didn't line up.
Do you think it was from another (later) year 1250s ?
The fairing was painted a light metallic Blue (Silver/Blue)
Was that a color for 2007 ?? I can only find '07's in Black, Dark Blue, or Red.
I'm thinking it's for a later model 1250s.
I think I can make it work, by fabricating a piece of aluminum stock, and bolting it to the tab on the frame (below the tank)
and tapping another hole in the piece to line up with the recessed hole in the rear portion of the fairing.
What sayeth the FORUM ??

Could it be from the 06' (last of the 1200's) put up a pick or a link to the ebay sale and we can have a look. the Silver/blue sounds like it is the 06' the 07' as you say are blue or black or red.
Also 06 has projector style side by side headlights 07 1250 has standard looking lights one above the other.

a link and pixs
Here's a link to the completed auction, most of the close-up pixs have been deleted
http://www.ebay.com/itm/2007-SUZUKI-GSF1250S-GSF-1250-BANDIT-FRONT-UPPER-FAIRING-COWL-NOSE-OEM-/160868125625?pt=Motorcycles_Parts_Accessories&hash=item25747ccbb9&vxp=mtr
The decal says "Bandit 1250s" and it looks original.
He also had quite a few other parts from the same bike.
I got the BIG fairing and two side frame covers, for $200 with shipping.
The seller was here in South Florida.

Re: '07 1250s Fairing
Yep that's the right one (07) What brackets were on the bike? you may be missing some at the rear of the fairing?
back to the manual
I still need the inner part that hides the top of the engine while you are riding.
The PO "Hacked" (with a Hack-saw) the fairing, and the cover piece and just left the fairing around the H-lamp and instrument panel and windshield.
Like I said it fit fine everywhere accept the fairing rear bolt under the tank, didn't line-up with the tab welded to the frame.

Re: '07 1250s Fairing
Captain, there are two pressed and bent steal brackets that come off the frame of the bike at the rear of the fairing, this will be what you are missing, check the new oem cost on them, would not think they would cost you another leg - you could sell that wooden one . As for the infill panels, you will have a job finding them second hand I am guessing. They would be easily broken on a crashed one. I wonder what they would be worth new?
Re: '07 1250s Fairing
From Alpha Sports the two brackets (top diagram part # 9 - RH 94530-18H00 & part # 10 - LH 94540-18H00) are pretty cheap (US$10.66 ea), but the Panel cover (lower diagram part # 4 - 94641-38G00) is US$120.02 - plus shipping.
fairing parts are on the way !!
Thanks again, to you guys at SBA Forum.
Bike Bandit had a pair for $7.46 each.
That's probably less then I could make a pair.
Now I have to repair a small crack and replace one tab, fair in some minor scratches
and "Paint it BLACK"
I will keep searching for the inner fill, It was hacked off at the bend below the instruments also.
I got some mirrors with the turn signal built-in.
Not to get off subject BUT...
I got some new black/black shorty foldable levers that I LOVE !!
http://www.ebay.com/itm/261472142432?_trksid=p2059210.m2749.l2649&ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT
This will be the second set, I bought for the bike. These have a much better adjustment mech. and are shorter and look GREAT !!
I love them.
Cal, thanks I have the .pdf manual.
and I got the complete Suzuki factory manual for $20 off eBay too.
I got the Haynes manual also. (good stuff)
Thanks again to SBA Forum for being there.
Ride Safe !!

Oi Cal, the bike you had a pic of isn't an 06. The 06 is the same shape as the 07 onward. & here in Oz, they only come in fast red. They didn't get the 06 in the States. The bike over to the right is an 06 ------------->>>

Ready to paint
OK, I'm ready to paint, the cowling.
Does Suzuki have a special name, of formula for the BLACK paint (2007) ?
Or just Jet Black ??
I still may send it out to a shop, if it's not too much $$$$$
or I may just spray "Bomb" it myself. I've done some pretty decent paint job if I do say so myself.
Primer, Black then Clear.
My best to you all.
