Fairing vibration "buzz"
Morning all,
Over the last few weeks, the old girl has developed a rater annoying "buzz" through the fairing of my 1200K6 (current bodywork, old engine). It didnt help that it decided to fall off its sidestand as I was opening the gate at home
The buzz was kicking in right at 4000rpm, just where I didn't need to hear it, even with earplugs in.
I stripped the fairing off the bike and after reassembly found that it was gone, only to reappear at 2000rpm!!!
What tricks or suggestions does anyone have?
BTW, I think the bike looks pretty good with the headlight unit and no fairing. I was thinking a bit of streetfighter work could be on the cards.

Re: Fairing vibration "buzz"
So by removing the fairing the "buzz" dropped from 4 to 2 .If you do it one more time ,i should be gone. ( my way of wanting a pic of fairing removed)

I was waiting for that
Probably on the weekend I will attempt another go at it. I will get some pics to start a " how can Smitty 'fighter the girl whilst retaining the factory headlight unit" thread.

Re: Fairing vibration "buzz"
Mine had a buzz that I couldn't identify, turned out to be the screen, jammed a couple of earplugs between the screen and fairing, and buzz gone.
Re: Fairing vibration "buzz"
My 02 Bandit has had a buzz fromt he fairing/screen for the last 40,000km. I'm so used to it I can almost tell how many revs I'm doing by the frequency of the buzz. Although, since fitting the new pipe the buzz has changed....

My K3 Bandit buzzed too, i bought some rubber material from clark rubber (flat 2mm thick) and made some rubber washes for the fairing all good now

Re: Fairing vibration "buzz"
My K8 did the same and it drove me nuts. It turned out to be the screen mount bolts loosening a little. A careful tightening (don't crack the screen) sorted it.
