Just installed my Yoshi R77 slip on, "love the sound" Very Happy . Just one question how many of you with this pipe have installed the rivet???
Is it absolutely necessary?

Thanks in advance

I put it in, it would stop the pipe from twisiting I think.

Someone mentioned they got a little more clearance for their Givi panniers by twisting their exhaust can.  So that makes me think if the clamp were to loosen then the can could twist the other way and reduce the clearance between the exhaust outlet and the bottom of the pannier.

I thought it was for holding the silencer insert in place.... or am I talking about something else?

I think we are talking about Part # 8 on this diagram:

I have a Yoshi TRS and use the rivet. Stops the link pipe twisting and things getting out of alignment. You could probably get away without it, but someone more engineering qualified than me thinks it is needed so who am I to argue

Thanks guys, I put the rivet in last night. Hardest part of the whole installation was drilling that hole in the stainless pipe, started with a small drill followed by the correct size.

That (plus cutting lubricant) is how you are supposed to do it.

Guys definitely better spread of power across the range, not huge but noticeable.
Once again sound is great, not too loud just nice. bounce
Best investment for the bike thus far.
Cheers
