Yoshi Pipe - keep or not?
All
I've just bought an 08 GSF1250SA - one owner with 9000kms on it. Only mod is a Yoshi pipe.
The owner supplied the original (unused) stock pipe with the bike.
I notice the bike crackles and pops on the overrun - and have read some of the posts about removing
the pair system or installing a power commander.
Basically - I'm not intersted in modifying the bike at all - it has more power than I know what to do
with, and runs beautifully as it is - so my question is - if I leave it as is, is there any danger of burnt
exhaust valves, damaged O2 sensor, or any other negatives resulting from the poping? Is it in any
risk of running lean with the Yoshi pipe fitted but no other changes?
If there are any potential negatives - I'm inclined to refit the stock muffler and leave it exactly as the
maker intended it.

Personal choice Jon. If you revert it back to standard, I'm sure someone here would gladly take to Yoshi off your hands for a nice cash exchange.

Yoshi's seen to pop n crackle more than others but it isnt doing anything the stock muffler isnt doing except you can hear it more.
Assuming you have a good fit at the link pipe
I like the pop that mine makes but the Beowulf doesnt make as much as many others even at 380mm.
I can tell you the stocker weighs almost 7kg and a Yoshi and most others are well under half that.
Personal choice mate.

Just so long as it's not doing any damage (through lean mixture or backfiring etc). If it isn't, then I have to say it does make a nice sound!

The stock can makes the bike sound like a sewing machine. Over 30 000k on the 1250FA with yoshy, no major issues so far.

Block the "pair system " .
Put in PAIR REMOVAL IN SEARCH BOX . 10 min job no $ .Should git rid of the crackel and pop .Dont bother removing it just block it at the
joint under the tank .I used a piece of plastic like a biro tube but solid ,some use a ear plug anything the right diam. and about 25mm long .
No smart arse comments please ,i know its small but it isnt going to fit in there .

Mate the pop is just the PAIR's and there is enough back pressure in the headers and cat.
As for the Yoshi popping more then Beowulf 2wa. I think that is bull. IOM

As one of, if not the biggest motorcycle exhaust maker in the World. IMO. That means more soft, girls, gays, boy racers and tough cunts then the smaller exhaust company's. So there probably is more.2wheelsagain wrote:Possibly mate but you soft Yoshi lot sure do complain about itReardo wrote:Mate the pop is just the PAIR's and there is enough back pressure in the headers and cat.

Keep the Yoshi.
With the stock can bike is too quiet and people in the traffic often don't hear the bike which can be a hazard.

I think I know who you mean. My kids are too old to have been into Mario Brothers.
