Storm Handlebar Guards
First topic message reminder :
Fitted the STORM handguards on the weekend and took it for a spin.
10 mins and they were on and I didn't have to move any of the other controls.
Only issue is at full lock when manouvering in the garage when they touch the front fairing, but that's no biggie!
I could feel the difference in temperature as there was no wind blast on the knuckles whatsoever. I think they'll be good in the winter and the rain! It may negate the need for heated grips.
Well worth the $140 I got them for.

Got my "Blizzard" hand guards today.
Five minute fit. Incredible weather protection.
Not the most esthetically pleasing, but function over fashion.

Bosco...As u can see in the pictures I posted, the Blizzard Handguards match my bikes colour. I also like that I can take them off for warmer weather just as quick.
now, if I can just find time to ride it!

I rode home this morning, in the rain, and found the "Blizzards" awesome.
Combined with the new Oxford grips, my hands were toasty. No more wet gloves.
Very versatile in the fact that you can take them off and on at will. Even on the side of the road, if you feel that the weather is nice, & carry them in the Givi.

Re: Storm Handlebar Guards
So how are the Blizzards going? Do they touch the front fairing when turning (riding) or is there plenty of clearance?
Re: Storm Handlebar Guards
Blizzard hand guards do not touch while riding.....not often I'd have a Bandit 1250 (GSX FA) on full lock while riding.
They only just touch once the bars are locked and even then they don't do anything to the screen as it's flexible.

Re: Storm Handlebar Guards
Well the Blizzard hand guards arrived on Friday and I ripped them out of the packet and had a trial fit of them on the GSF1250s. The fit to the bar ends was simple enough, just unscrew the bar end bolt and fit the guards with the supplied washer and they were in. The part I was not to happy about was how they fitted over the master cylinders. I have switch gear for my headlights and spot lights and the controller for the oxford grips all in the way and the lead from the heated grip on the throttle side was also being fouled by the guard. So I went up to the local metal supplier and got some 3mmx20mm ally strap and bent up some brackets then riveted the guards to the brackets. These then mounted to the master cylinder brackets on either side. The guards do touch the fairing on full lock but I can still lock the handle bars if needed. Will be heading off this Friday to try them out.

Very nicely done!
Nice looking screen you've got there too.

Re: Storm Handlebar Guards
Thanks David. The screen is an MRA, not sure which model it is. It was on the bike when I bought it. Bit of wind noise but otherwise good weather protection.
