Cheap Fuel Pump
This seller has reduced his price on after-market non-OEM Bandit fuel pumps. Pretty cheap at about $72 ($Aus).

Nice one Ewok.
At that price it was worth carrying a spare. Ordered one this morning.

Yep - the installed one (of the above) appears to be working fine (although it has only done about 750kms since it was installed) so I've also ordered another (in case!), as I plan to keep the Bandit a while longer (coming up to 54,000kms now). Surely at this price you can't go wrong?

Re: Cheap Fuel Pump
Dave when your pump failed what symptoms did you first experience?
I'm asking because while out on a ride today with spanna I had a moment of no power when opening the throttle hard. If I eased it open the bike accelerated smoothly.
I was running in the reserve section on the gauge but still had plenty of fuel left. After filling up at the servo (13l only) and stopping for a spell the bike ran fine afterwards.
Spanna said it might be the heat of the day, and after stopping and letting it cool it was fine.
BTW that was 13l after 276k or 4.7l/100

Re: Cheap Fuel Pump
I probably first noticed a slight hesitation in pulling through the rev range, from 4,000rpm onwards. This slight hesitation gradually got worse and worse to the point where it wouldn't pull past 4,00rpm at all in 6th. It wasn't misfiring (so no single plug issue), the aircleaner looked fine (but I replaced it anyway). I even changed back to the standard exhaust can in case the yoshi had developed a blockage. I tried the fuel pump mesh screen clean and filter change, which seemed to help for a short period. But once it wasn't willing to pull in top gear I knew it was cactus.

Re: Cheap Fuel Pump
Thanks, its probably a vapour lock issue considering the heat, however I've never had it before.
I'll keep monitoring it and I might buy one of these new pumps anyway as a spare. Especially as they are only $43 delivered
