Aussie prospects and a summer of racing
Great to see Aussie Jack (Miller) is on the pace at the latest test in Moto3.
He's on a good bike, in a good team and I'm sure will show the talent that he has.
Arthur Sissis is on the Mahindra which isn't a bad machine and should be competitive in a number of races.
Hopefully come October and Phillip Island, we may be crowning another Aussie World Champ in Miller.
A lot of people thought that it may be a few years till we get another Aussie like Stoner back at the front, but that time could be closer than we think.
The Gardner boys are doing well in the Spanish championship and a number of Aussies are in the BSB.
We need to get Allerton, Maxwell etc onto World Superbike machines and compete at this level.
But if you want to see some good riders, get to the Troy Bayliss Classic in Taree on the 18th Jan, it's old skool oiled flat track racing with a big list of champion riders, it's going to be mad.
We need to support the Aussie racing industry to allow the young riders a chance of exposure and then hopefully a World level ride, then we can all sit back and watch them at 1am in the morning from tracks all around the world.
Also, the Aussie Day Long Weekend on the 26th Jan has the Island Classic Races. What a grea weekend this will be. The atmosphere with the riders and crowd is so laid back but so knowledgeable. The range of
different bikes, configurations and engine smells is fantastic(especialy the oil burning 2-strokes!). Get down there and spend the weekend in Cowes for a great Aussie Day weekend.
It's a summer of racing to look forward to!
