GSX1250FA
Normally this page is for accessories, but i am so impressed with my new investment i though i'd Share.
I picked up my 2011 GSX1250FA last Wednesday. First thing, new tyres front and rear, Dunlop RoadSmart 2's as the Bridgestones are something that i have quite an aversion too, then out with the tape measure, fix up the suspension sag, all nice and level, still not turning quite right. Drop the forks 10mm in the triple clamp, yup thats better.
ok organise a run to Cann River to check my handy work.
Ok the suspension was setup pretty much the same as my Bandit, with the revised suspension that Suzuki has done makes the GSX a completely different bike to the GSF, the bike is very pointed, bumps don't upset it anywhere near as the standard suspension on the GSF. and make it a lot less of a handful in those fun twisties.
No don't get me wrong i am not bashing the Bandit at all, but its standard suspension leaves a lot to be desired
Instrument Cluster is a little underwhelming, it could do with some Chrome. The Gear indicator is cool, the shift light well i can take it or leave it and the fairing doesn't cause any where as much buffeting as my GSF, the Head light works as it should hey its even quite bright.
My Bike came with a Genuine Suzuki Touring gel seat, its a bit flatter but very comfortable, but then i found the standard seat comfy.
Considering i was looking at all different bikes, the Triumph tiger 1050, FZ1S, KTM990SMT, CBF1000 and of course the GSX1250FA.
i feel that my purchase was all about value. usable performance, and rider comfort. and for $9000 i got all that and like my Bandit i am smiling every time i hop on it

Re: GSX1250FA
ok I'm dying to know what colour you got Jim .. must be blue like your GSF ?
I always thought the GSX cut through the air very nicely and stable .. more so than the bandit S.
not sure about the headlight, I never rode it at night.

Re: GSX1250FA
Great write up Jim
Shame you never got the Oort Grey
I struggle with the light output as I do a bit of night riding and in poor weather etc Then again it could be my eyes
There are some good add ons you can get (some listed here) but have not got round to getting then adding them.
I could always ride slower..... Yeah right!!!
