Isle of Man!!!!!
Been watching the Isle of Man Superstock, Supersport and F1 races over the weekend!
Has anyone been over there?
Its on my to-do list in the next few years and i'd love to take the Bandit over, or hire a bike over there.
Those riders all deserve respect and to see young Aussie Josh Brookes go that quick on a set of roads he's never ridden is amazing. The element of risk the riders put on the line is the ultimate price to pay. I think it is definately a Mecca for bike racing and it shows the potential of the Superbike machines and what they can do. There probably aren't too many four-wheelers that could average 130miles an hour that you could get for under $50000!
The atmosphere for the 2 weeks would be amazing and i'm sure my beer belly would grow a nice little amount!
I've had a look at the tours that go over there and you can take your own bike. Has anyone done that and is it any good?
At the moment I settle for a number of days in Cowes for the Island Classic, Supers and GPs every year as my substitute.

I usually buy the IOM TT DVD (Duke DVD or o/s). The commentary team is pretty good and the racing is competitive, but bloody scary when you consider they are averaging over 200kmp per the 50km+ lap. I didn't see the weekend stuff but the 2013 Senior Race was on One today and I'm hope crook so I watched it.

Here's a bit of trivia for ya. Duke video was established and is owned by the son of Geoff Duke, 6 times IOM winner and 6 times world champ.
"Highly honoured by the Isle of Man, where he made so many of his world record breaking rides, a point on the Mountain Course has been named after him. Three sharp bends at the 32nd Milestone between Brandywell and Windy Corner now carry the title 'Duke's'. The FIM named him a Grand Prix "Legend" in 2002.[8] After retiring from racing, Duke became a businessman, initially in the motor trade and later in shipping services to the Isle of Man. In 1978 he was instrumental in setting up the Manxline company that introduced the first roll-on-roll-off ferry service to the IOM in competition with the 150-year-old IOM Steam Packet Co.[9] His son Peter founded Duke Video, a successful publisher specialising in motorsport videos."

Re: Isle of Man!!!!!
Been there and done that many years ago in my youth. Went every year for eight years. I even had my honeymoon there. I also have the dubious "honour" of being fined, jailed and deported for hooning along the promenade. Arrived on a Friday afternoon for the start of racing on Saturday. Arrested on Friday night - court on Saturday morning, fined and ordered to be held until the first ship back to the mainland which turned out to be the following Friday. In those days there was no conviction recorded and it did nor effect your licence. Back the next year and all was forgiven.
